Booked La Quinta as well for a good rate...No cancellation fee either....

Much cheaper than the room I had booked in Lake Geneva

I booked La Quinta as well for my wife and I.

I also have a suite booked at the Comfort Suites in Delavan, WI. It has 2 queen beds and is rather large. I would much rather stay in Delavan but our friends backed out and cannot make it. Let me know if anyone is interested in splitting up the cost ($544 total including taxes). It would be around $270 for a couple. We are coming from PA.

I booked a room at the La Quinta.

I don't know how to make this happen, but if we got enough people from both hotels would be there a way to book something to get back and forth to the shows?

    Thoughts?

I like the carpool idea for transportation to and from the shows. We will have a rental car and can take a few people with us from either the La Quinta or Holiday Inn.

Or maybe we can all collaborate on a cab ride if it's not too expensive and we can fit 5 or more people in it.

I ended up getting tickets for the EV show in Philly as well. I wasn't going to go but a friend from Philly really wanted to go so I got a couple of tickets. We should try and meet up in Philly next month!

Anyway, just booked my flight to Chicago on Friday, Sept. 2nd, arriving at 8:30. I am going to catch a Cubs game, hang in Chicagoland until dinner time and then head to the La Quinta. My returning flight doesn't leave MKE until 4pm on Monday so that I can shake off a potential hangover before leaving!

I am now officially pumped since a trip isn't a trip until you click submit on your flight reservation! ;)

I was thinking if there is enough people maybe some type of shuttle or something else could be rented. Would just need somebody to be the DD. I personally would like to drink a few beers and don't want to worry about driving home afterward. If somebody arranged it and another would be the DD, I'd be willing to chip in quite a bit. Way cheaper than getting a DUI.

If I have some extra time today, I will look into calling some places about a bus or shuttle for everyone.

Ok, I found some pricing on a 25-passenger shuttle bus from Best Way Limousine (http://www.bestwaylimousine.com/index.aspx).

It is $65/hour to rent this bus to take us from New Berlin, WI to Alpine Valley. I requested a Noon departure and a return at Midnight. This comes out to be $780 for the day, which works out to be around $31/person for the day plus tip.

I figure it should be around $35 per person if we can get 25 people on board with this. I also have an email in to the owner to see if he can do better on pricing since we would need the bus for 2 days.

I will look into some other companies for pricing as well. There may be some that will only charge for the time we are in the bus(i.e. 4 hours instead of 12 hours)

Let me know what you guys think.

EDIT: I found another company that will only charge us for 6 hours to shuttle us back and forth from Alpine Valley at $95/hour. This is a 29-passenger charter bus and works out to be less than $20 per person plus tip.

My group of four is also staying at the La Quinta.

The party bus sounds like a great idea. I will have to talk it over with my group but it sounds cool.
