$77 bucks is steep for a 2 and a half hours of music not including opening act for the best seats in the house?

    okay then.

here we go again. These threads are like crack. they are so bad for me and yet I cannot resist.

doesn't mean much coming from an angry dude

    homework assignment:

Google "what was the dollar worth in 2003"
"what is the dollar worth in 2008"
    "how does inflation work"

    happy reading.

that was five years ago and it was $43 per

and its cheap COMPARED TO THE OTHER ACTS that play MSG
(except the foos, cause that gig was underwritten by a sponsor)

and there is no need for name calling-that the stuff that gets you banned

oh and I love these people that come out of the wood work when there is a tour

prolly a scalper just bitching about the overhead

yea im a scalper. ive probably seen 30 more shows than you, but im a scalper

What was our price with the extra fees on the last tour, about $65? So $77 without fee's seems like a bigger than usual increase. Then again, it is MSG. I hear the Boston show is $60 without fees, and that sounds about right.

why else would you care about the price?
and I really dont care how may shows youve seen
that doesnt mean anything to me

    great way to introduce yourself

and people MSG is the most expensive place to play-hence pricey tickets

    a) i wasn't bitching, i believe i used the term "a little steep, but whatever". i pray for your wife

    b) i know the maount of shows one has seen doesn't say anything about how big of a fan they are....everyone knows the amount of posts you have on the message pit is the barometer for that

the only issue I have with you is calling someone a dick-and now praying for my wife what the fuck does that mean?

and the number of posts doesnt mean anything, but the timing of arrival speaks volumes as to why you are here

i'm done arguing with you, but how do you know i didn't just make a new handle to commemorate my favorite hockey player?

and why do you have to be so hostile? i've been seeing shows since 00, i don't really need to prove myself to you or anyone else

man things have changed...i remember when concert tickets hit $30 and i used to think it was too much money...and i remember when pj charged close to $50 people said it was too much now $77 is considered "cheap"!

im not ripping the band i rip the concert business! its a sad day when a $77 ticket is consider a good price no matter who your seeing!

Just to shed some light, I have seen tons of shows at MSG, and while yes, the prices are usually in the triple digits, it is not that way for every seat.

Pearl Jam charging $77 for a floor seat = STEAL! That's a great deal.

Pearl Jam charging $77 for a 400's seat behind the stage = Not such a great deal.

Now I don't even know why I'm posting in this thread, as none of the prices have been confirmed by the 10C, but just thought I'd add a perspective. Shows at MSG definitely tend to be on the pricey side, but most acts use a staggered pricing tier system.

If people are paying $77 for nose bleed seats via TM, I'd consider that a bit steep.

Anyways, whatever, hopefully I see everyone at both shows. Like most fans who post here, I'll be on the floor or side-stage if I get through, so I really don't know what the griping is about. $77 is a damn good price at MSG considering where the fanclub is going to seat you.

that's high but it's not awful when you consider that all billy joel seats two years ago were 95 bucks.

77 isnt bad but with fees its going to be a little steep

it was 35 for the 300s and 400s in 03
and 43 for all the other seats

with inflation from 5 years ago that would mean the tickets should be around 55-60 now....and since the new arena in newark happened, the rangers making the playoffs...MSG got more expensive to rent out
