try their next album...i'm hoping for it! They recorded it for avocado and backspacer. Rob talks about it all the time on AET, so its in the band's mind I would guess to get it out eventually.
I believe that a studio version was on the original backspacer rough takes cd that was given to a few ppl close to the band....tom tomorrow mentioned that there was 12 songs on the copy he was given and I think someone mentioned on here back on the europe tour last year they asked mike and he said it was on that cd in rough form.... can't wait to hear a studio version!!!!
And hopefully other songs on the album will have the same feel and vibe of this song.
Oh yes, hopefully. It doesn't fit with the other Backspacer songs at all, but I could see it sitting alongside an album of songs with a similar feel, such as 'Inside Job' *drools*
Manchester 2000 :: Cardiff 2000 :: Prague 2006 :: London 2007 :: Manchester 2009 :: London 2009 :: Manchester I 2012 :: Manchester II 2012 :: Milton Keynes 2014 :: London I 2018 :: London II 2018
I heard a tiny excerpt of the live version and decided to stop myself and wait for the studio version one day. This is taking unbelievable determination on my behalf. Can't wait to hear it though!
man, i'm not a fan of this song at all....just feels like really rehashed bits.....not much of a melody to me....
I do like that they're open to doing longer songs still. just hoping for something a little, i don't know, more focused maybe. This song always seems to me when i listen that it wants to be a little bit harder, even more rawk then it is. Maybe if they go that way with it, more FUZZ texture or something....i wouldn't mind the new album rocking like this song, just hoping for something more inspiring to me .....i'm glad to hear it was left off the last 2 albums, that's good new to me...

Heard it in dublin and didn't really "get" it. It lacked flow and Eddies singing was forced like on some Avocado tunes.
Anyone else who doesn't love the song?
it's ok to me. I think I initially really liked it because I fell into the "new PJ!" mode. But upon further listening, all it seems to me to be is Eddie's best Who impersonation.

Doesn't do much for me. Sounds a bit too prog rock, and I like to have a few more words in my songs!
