    Look on the bright side... at least all of that bullshit lip service about 'Family Values' and Sanctity of Marriage won't crop up in the election.

    Most of you should know that Americans are forgiving people. Just look at Bill Clinton. The man lied under Oath and lost his liscence to practice law.Not to mention He lied to us on National TV. And he's still held in high reguards by many people.I realize that none of you are running for president or have ever held any kind of public office,but how many of you have done something in your life that you were ashamed of or regretted ? We are all humans and Humans make mistakes. ? the media will make him out to be a terrible person and so will all the Obama sycophants but i think most Americans,logical thinking ones that is would be willing to look past his marital problems.

    I can tell you this Newt would wipe the Floor with Obama in a debate on Obama's policies. Have been to the gas station lately ? Or have you bought any food lately at the grocey store ? :x

    I think Huckabee's gonna get the nod, but not sure he can win with independents due to his social conservatism.

    Bush pressured the CIA to come up with something, anything to go to war with Iraq.......then was certain Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. Then sold this to the American people..... Or flat out lied.

    And your worried about Clinton lying about a couple of bjs from a fat chick?? Your priorities are out of whack

    Then Obama proves once and for all .... Intelligence + small special op presence can do a helluva lot more to disrupt this so called war on terror

    Then your boy Newt spearheaded a campaign to impeach, wasting tens of millions of dollars when he was a bigger scumbag all along

    Am I the only one connected dots anymore ?

    Most people forget the Contract For America that won Newt the position of Speaker of the House:
    "On the first day of the 104th Congress, the new Republican majority will immediately pass the following major reforms, aimed at restoring the faith and trust of the American people in their government:

    FIRST, require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply equally to the Congress;
    SECOND, select a major, independent auditing firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of Congress for waste, fraud or abuse;
    THIRD, cut the number of House committees, and cut committee staff by one-third;
    FOURTH, limit the terms of all committee chairs;
    FIFTH, ban the casting of proxy votes in committee;
    SIXTH, require committee meetings to be open to the public;
    SEVENTH, require a three-fifths majority vote to pass a tax increase;
    EIGHTH, guarantee an honest accounting of our Federal Budget by implementing zero base-line budgeting.
    "
    ...
    Does anyone remember... did those things come to pass? Remember, the Democraps held the Houses from 2006 to 2010... so, the Republicans had the houses from 1994 to 2006, 2010 to present... 14 of 17 years. Slightly more than 100 days.
    Are these reforms in place... or am i missing something?
    Please, fill me in.
    Thanx

    I am not fan of Newt by any means but he deserves credit for his welfare reform when it had 60% of the people on welfare started attending school or got a job.

    Bottom line is if corporate welfare and personal welfare abuses are to be stopped, if you want out of two wars, if you want the border secured, if you want the dollar to mean something, if you want to follow the Constitution, and if you want this country to turn around; there is only one man for the job.

    And it isn't Newt.

And he's still held in high regards by many people.I realize that none of you are running for president or have ever held any kind of public office,but how many of you have done something in your life that you were ashamed of or regretted ? But he is a terrible person. Here's the thing that always bothered me about political office in general, Democrat, Republican, Independent, Christian, Atheist, Kennedy, Clinton, Bush, Obama...whatever: If you can't even stay true to the vows and commitment you made to your wife/husband how can you be trusted to commit to something as important as power? If your "significant" other can't even trust you, how can the people you represent? I'm not naive, I know that people are attracted to power and affairs happen all the time but I still think its a serious issue and credibility problem. Its way more than just a character flaw. I understand people make mistakes, but this is guy had at least one affair, (possibly 2, allegedly while one wife had cancer). His credibility is shot in my eyes and like Donald Trump, I can't believe that Americans would even remotely entertain the idea of voting for these clowns. I'm still amazed at the lack of credible, worthy candidates from both sides throughout the years, that represent this great country! Ugh. Ok, back to the Porch.
    P.S. I would just like to add in case people think I'm some Democrat, that I think that whole Clinton affair was a debacle for the entire government, and an embarrassment for America. An affair, an intern, hypocrites, a witch hunt, a meaningless impeachment, a huge waste of money, time and attention? Check all. Everybody looked like an amateur on that disaster.

    So he's already flip flopped on the first week. First being for an individual mandate and saying Ryan's plan was too extreme ("Social engineering from the right or left are both undesireable") to backtracking from those comments not even a week later.

    Good start.

    i read an article today at work that said conservatives are not supporting him like he thought they would and he is having a hard time getting donations for his campaign....not a great start. talk about stumbling out of the blocks...

    he wouldn't win anyway once the stories get out of him serving his wife divorce papers while she was in the hospital, and that while he was leading the charge to impeach clinton he was carrying on his own extramarital affair...

    Speaking as one of his former constituents, I must say that if Newt gets elected President, I will be moving to Canada. I REALLY cannot stand that man. He is like, the Jedi Master of Unabashed Hypocrisy In Action.

    However, on the plus side, if I move to Canada, I apparently will have a greater likelihood of seeing a Pearl Jam show before I frakkin' DIE. :lol:

    Greatest. Press. Release. Ever.

    The literati sent out their minions to do their bidding. Washington cannot tolerate threats from outsiders who might disrupt their comfortable world. The firefight started when the cowardly sensed weakness. They fired timidly at first, then the sheep not wanting to be dropped from the establishment's cocktail party invite list unloaded their entire clip, firing without taking aim their distortions and falsehoods. Now they are left exposed by their bylines and handles. But surely they had killed him off. This is the way it always worked. A lesser person could not have survived the first few minutes of the onslaught. But out of the billowing smoke and dust of tweets and trivia emerged Gingrich, once again ready to lead those who won't be intimated by the political elite and are ready to take on the challenges America faces.
