I've always been a new wave fan, but never got into The Cars. I'm not even familiar with their music besides their pop hit from the 80s..

Anyways, I can't get their new song out of my head! I heard it on a college radio station. It's cool that a band can break up for 25 years and come back sounding as fresh as ever..

You owe it to yourself to get acquainted to the pre-80s MTV stuff, their debut album is nothing short of fantastic.

I am really happy Ric is back (Todd Rundgren? Really?) ... but, I won't go see them in concert.

Hearing anyone other than Ben Orr singing songs like Just What I Needed and Moving in Stereo would be too crushing. Man, he even made Drive sound amazing.

Of course, if you're over the age of 30, you can't hear Moving in Stereo ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZhfFXEMMI4

... and not think of ...

Hi, Brad. You know how cute I always thought you were.

That's just a great comeback song. You can hear their influence in so many of the newer indie type bands. I really hear them in the Strokes and the Killers. Sadly, although they were all over pop radio and MTV in their heyday they're going to have a hard time finding many FM stations that have a friendly format for them.

They were known as a horrible live act in their heyday, so I can just imagine how they will be now that they are all pushing 60!
