I read in an article that he has this wine shipped to him, and he drinks it on stage.

Siduri Van der Kamp Pinot Noir.

It's actually James Van Der Beek Pinot Noir. God! Get it right!

He kinda reminds me of Garth in this pic.

I really like Hess Select. Usually it's about $9-10 a bottle at the discount place.

Siduri Van der Kamp Pinot Noir.

    ...dang, that shit's $36 a bottle. A bit beyond my per-bottle budget of $15 - 20 max.

Not open yet? You're more disciplined than me when it comes to wine! I have a hard time shelving wines. According to the website (http://www.siduri.com/wines/2006_vanderkamp.html), you should shelve it for 3-5 years.

Did you actually go to the winery and taste this? I didn't think they had one. Heck, I live close to Sonoma County so I'd be game for a trip there (but not this week, I'll be heading East to Camden, NJ for something really big).
    Rock on!

They had a tasting/office place in Santa Rosa, which (although I talked to them on the phone a few times to set things up) I didn't get to because ... things didnt' work out. Turned out they wouldn't be open when we were available. I ended up getting mine at a store in Napa, where they had some tastings of different products they sold. We're from BC, so it was when we went to the Bridge show in 2006...although, we're both dying for another trip through Napa/Sonoma - maybe this fall...

We also went to the Raymond Burr winery...the somalier or whatever there asked us where we were from (because of our funny accents) and I said, "NEW WESTMINSTER, British Columbia!!". She just blinked at us - "Is that important? Where is that?" "Yeah, that's where Raymond Burr was born - we was Canadian...." She didn't know, but then ran outside and told those who were there that we were from where Ray was born!! However, the wine was not very good. We bought a t-shirt for my mom, who is a big Ironside fan.

Anyway, good to know that I'm doing right by the Siduri by shelving it... one more year!!

Vedderfan, I suggest next time you're in that area, go a little further up from Santa Rosa to the Healdsburg area (ie, Dry Creek region). Good wines and good values up there. Napa is way overpriced and super snobby! That being said, I still have many favorites in Napa -- so if you go, stay closer to the Calistoga area if possible (ie, Casa Nuestra and Prager's Portworks).

Enjoy your visit down here again should you return this fall!
    Rock on!
    ~Edward
