Blu vs. Dvd

So, who is getting Vedder on Blu Ray? Who's sticking with Dvd? And who just has to have both?

I wonder if there will be any differences between the two besides format...

BluRay all the way here. I don't think I need I have to have both. If I find the need, I'll downconvert the BD to DVD and burn my own.

A lot of blu-rays come with a digital download to play on laptops, etc. Maybe this one will as well.

Am I wrong, or wasn't the blu ray edition supposed to come with two extra tracks, blackbird and all along the watchtower? Doesn't say this on the description..

blu-ray. I stopped buying dvd's about 4 or 5 years ago (except the odd thing that comes that I know won't come out on blu). Even though I didn't have a bluray player yet I didn't want to get double dipped. I don't really see the point of buying both, so I'll be quite happy with a blu-ray.

high def. was a good progression of tv. If you have a decent sized HDTV, I'd always go with bluray.

blu ray has far better audio and video quality...esp audio. There's absolutely no point to buying both if you have a blu ray player, the dvd will be a dead format in 10 yrs tops. i work for a big electronics retailer and dvd's are going out the window big time. Blu ray players have less problems with their lasers and loading trays and we see a lot less in our repair dept. and we sell more blu rays.

Nope... me too. I'm not waiting to June 28th... after the Beacon show just to see it. Fuck that noise. I'd rather be watching it for a month first. And to be honest.. if you have a good upscaling dvd player its hard to tell the difference. My Imagine in Cornice DVD looks amazing on my PS3 on my HDtv. Bluray will be dead in 10 years as well. no one will by discs for anything in 10 years.

I'll probably get BluRay because everyone says it is so much better. However, maybe it's because I'm colorblind, I can't really tell any difference.

I don't get his point? Sure bluray may be dead in 10 years, but so will DVDs...at this point i'd rather have the superior format...i can wait a couple of weeks for the blu-ray release.

Depends on your setup. If you have your DVD hooked up to a decent sized HDTV via HDMI cables and have a good sound setup you should definitely notice a difference in video and sound quality (I do).
