Just got back from seeing Arcade Fire live for the first time. Wow! Great show. Only complaint is that they only played for about 1.5 hours (which I already knew going in, but the shortness was still kindve a bummer)...and 16 songs...felt like I was just getting warmed up when it ended. Another 30 minutes or so would've been great. It was still an amazing show..the band and audience were really into it. Hope to see these guys many more times. Also saw 2 people with Pearl Jam shirts ;) Setlist is below:

1.Ready to Start
2.Keep The Car Running
3.Neighborhood #2 (Laika)
4.Haiti
5.Rococo
6.Sprawl 1 (Flatland)
7.Intervention
8.The Suburbs
9.Month of May
10.Rebellion (Lies)
11.No Cars Go
12.Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)
13.We Used To Wait
14.Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
Encore:
15.Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)
16.Wake Up

lucky! I love the bands energy live, when doing stuff like Power Out or Wake up. The crowd and the band are literally experiencing God at that moment. The show i saw in 2010, they played Rebellion, Power Out and then I think Wake up all in a row. People went bonkers

Nope. It was an Arcade Fire show. I dunno..maybe they are used to playing shorter festival sets? They were so good I just wanted it to go on. Hopefully next tour they play longer sets for their non-festival shows.

ive seen them twice. neither show was particularly long. we all want bands we love to play for 3 hours, and the bands that can pull that off live, those shows are always great. but length of shows dont really determine the live shows impact or effect. Some bands like Radiohead perform short sets and their live show is world reknowned. when i saw them in 2007, Radiohead that is, they we done with their set at 1030.

As far as I know, AF has never played sets with 20plus, or 30 songs. Thats just not them.

That said, with a live show like they have, who the hell needs 3 hours. They get it done fast, and have the greatest live show in the world.

It was definitely an amazing live show. Easily one of the best concerts I've ever been to! Still thinking about it now and watching clips on youtube ;) Wish I was seeing them again tonight :(

  • They just announced that they are playing in Charlottesville on June 8th which is just over an hour from me!

If you had told me that I would finally get to see these guys and that it would be that close I would have thought you were crazy.

There's another one of the ol' bucket list. :D

Awesome news. Their concert last month is only second to being on the rail at the Vic...they're that good.

I've seen them live twice. First time was literally a week or two before they became huge, in a small-ish venue too. Second time was a big arena show. Amazing band. Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) is one of the finest songs ever written.

  • Well tonight's the night! Still can't believe they decided to play in Charlottesville as practically their only U.S. date other than Bonnaroo for a while. Hopefully my 8 1/2+ months pregnant wife doesn't go into labor!
  • Well as expected, Arcade Fire delivered the goods and blew my mind. Easily in the top five of best shows I've ever seen, and I've seen my share. The fact that they still do six songs from Funeral is more than okay with me since it was my first time. They literally did every song I was hoping to see.

Their show in Montreal this fall is the single best concert I've ever seen. 101,000 in attendance, last real show of 'The Suburbs' tour, mindblowing intensity level. Just awesome.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

  • ive long said they are the best live band on the planet. theres something about the way they play live, and the way the crowd REALLY gets into it. Screaming and singing every word, and the urgency of the music that makes it mindblowing.

my two favorite live shows of all time, are Arcade Fire, in 2007 and then 2010.
