you gotta see them live. Their albums are pretty good - but live, they are a totally different band

I actually like them more than RATM - at least the Deftones come out with new material.

Eric - have you ever seen them in a small club setting? Killer, killer show

the shows i'm going to next week are all in small clubs! can't fucking wait! I saw them for the first time last year at the Blackdiamondskye shows....the venues were med sized...but the shows next week are all at places with less than a 1000 cap.! the kind of places with no rail and you can get right up to the stage! it's gonna be killer!

Yes, wrong forum, but great topic anyway ;)

I'm seeing them on Saturday for the 6th or 7th time over 15 years ... they still seriously bring it. The newest album is their best since White Pony.

Yeah, that's about the aize of the club that I saw them out - maybe even a little smaller, not sure. It was billed as "An Evening with the Deftones" - no opener, just them for maybe about 2 hours? Just a killer show. And then my cousin saw them maybe a year or two ago where they were playing their entire albums in a row - he said it was a killer show, too

Liberty Lunch in Austin in 1997. Amazing show.
Deep Ellum Live in Dallas in 1999. Even more amazing.

Got to see them about 6 months ago for the first time in 7 or 8 years and they still bring it. Chino is a mad man on stage. I've seen him climb the rafters and do back flips into the crowd. Not a fan of their last few albums but they still kick ass live.

Around The Fur and Adrenaline still get play on my iPod quite often.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Really? You didn't like Diamond Eyes? I thought that album was sick. I wasn't a huge fan of Saturday Night Wrist though

It probably has more to do with my musical tastes these days compared to 1996/97. I don't get into most of the new stuff bands i loved back then put out. PJ excluded.

they just moved him or are in the process of moving him to NJ to this special facility/Dr. that deals with his condition....I think there may be hope for him...God willing.

Thanks for all the feedback. Sorry if it wasn't linked to PJ. My original statement was about seeing them as a wonderful appetizer for the PJ show later this summer.

It was my second show this tour and they are really firing on all cylinders right now.

If you have plans to see them, ENJOY!

    Peace all.

First time I ever saw the deftones was back on July 4, 1995 at the wiskey a go go opening up for the bad brains!!! Was hooked immediately!!! Def a live band and the energy they deliver is "comparable" to RATM but rage are the kings of blowing up the stage!!!!
