Tube failure

Here is a picture of a bizarre tube failure. The glass split right at the base. Yes it split, it did not just separate from the base. Amp just started to distort on my buddies hand wired Peavey Masterpiece 50. I actually thought it was distortion in the mixer. Turned out it was the tube.

Yea it's already been up and running since then. It's all good to go. The difference between my buddy (the owner of the amp) and I is I tend to pull the tubes the day I bring a amp home. I tend to be nit picky. He is more laid back and doesn't get as anal as I do.
