Any of you fans of this up and coming indie-folk duo?
Barton Hallow is an amazing debut.

  • I REALLY like their song "Barton Hollow"

I got their debut, and even though their were a lot of quality tracks on the album, I wish there were more songs that rocked like that one! But nonetheless, they are really good

I just saw The Civil Wars live last night and WOW what a show!! Such a talented duo and they really put on a great show. Catch them live if you can! It was just so great and the crowd went crazy for them, with the audience singing along...and cheering very loudly during and after songs. The songs sounded better live than on the album (and I LOVE the album). They have a great stage presence, and it absolutely shows that they love what they are doing and are into the music. I got chills during the performance of Barton Hollow! Great way to start off a new year of shows...really hope they play Dallas again later this year.

Did anyone else hear Safe & Sound, the song they recently wrote and recorded with Taylor Swift for the Hunger Games soundtrack. Now, I am the furthest thing from being a fan of Swift, but the song's actually not bad and is more Civil Wars style tha Swift's.

Here is a recent performance of Civil Wars and Swift performing the song in concert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJyyx1Vm9CQ

Saw them in NYC in October (while my wife and I were on our Honeymoon). Great live performance--it's just the two of them, but the sound fills a theater perfectly. They even did a cover of Smashing Pumpkins' "Disarm," and one of "Billie Jean" that isn't quite the dirge that Chris Cornell's version is. Really good stuff, and both members are charming as hell as far as stage presence. Recommend.

Amazing duo. I have seen them twice and they are one of the best live groups I've ever seen. Their harmonies are perfect and chemistry is just unmatched. I definitely recommend checking them out if you have a chance.

I bought their album and couldn't make it through with the taste of syrup coating my entire brain.

Ridiculous that they won the Grammy over Fleet Foxes. Just shows how dumb the Grammys are.

I disagree. Of course, I would have been happy had Fleet Foxes won, but I think the Civil Wars award was well deserved. If I had to vote, it would be a tough choice...I really like both albums..maybe Helplessness Blues more, but still happy Civil Wars was recognized. To each his/her own though. I personally like just the right kind of syrup every once in a while. :)

I agree. Jack White and Joy Williams sound beautiful together and are extremely, extremely talented. Actually, what is a better argument in regard to the Grammys being dumb, is the fact they would award one of those albums as "better" than the other.

I agree,I bought the album based on how great Barton Hollow is.I barely made it through the first listen of the album in it's entirety,I felt nothing but nausea at how sickly dull and boring every other track was.
