Explosions In The Sky's new album

the new record Take Care Take Care....

The vinyl version is unreal, disc 1 white and green marbled, disc 2 is translucent Amber with black, and side 4 has etched bricks. The package itself is a 4 way gatefold (from the center it folds in each of the four directions) meant to stand up and form a box with no lid. Each side of the fold is an inside and outside of a house, so when folded up it makes a little dwelling. Then there is a nine section poster foldout that acts as the ground, also double sided with the back/bottom being roots and dirt. The most creative packaging I have ever seen.

The album is pretty darn good too! ;)

  • That packaging is so ridiculously cool, and the album itself is awesome as well. I love Explosions in the Sky, they never disappoint :)

Did you buy it from their musictoday site? I'm just seeing photos of black vinyl. Would like to order the version you described.

    Thanks.

Nevermind, actually found the label and ordered direct, said only limited supplies on colored vinyl. Rolling the dice and will see if I win or if I really win. Thanks for the heads up!

    I ain't got no fly'n shoes..

  • So how do we know if we're ordering the colored vinyl? It makes it sound like you would just get black if the colored ones were gone. My local record store has it but the packaging doesn't mention anything about the colored vinyl.

For those that have it, was there any indication on the packaging?

“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Got mine in the mail today... with colored vinyl... and I ordered direct from their label, not musictoday. Sweet packaging on this one.
