It's not a bad lineup, but there's really not much to be terribly excited about when compared to most of the other major festivals happening (unless you're a Coldplay fan.... )

Who's going?

  • Coldplay sucks. Chris Martin's a D-bag. That's right Chris Martin. Go join a church choir.

  • I'm going, but I definitely agree with you on the lineup. It's really solid, but nothing amazing. I'm really excited for My Morning Jacket and Explosions in the Sky though :D

Muse is a terrific live band, my #2 live band. Unsure if I will try to catch them in Chicago or maybe Kansas City....

Really, I just need to know if PJ wants any of my $ this year...have to wait for that to see if I am going elsewhere.

I agree that Muse puts on a great live show, but I've been hung up for a while on the fact that they've worked themselves into a corner with this over-the-top space opera stuff. At some point it begins blending with the similar songwriting trajectory of 30 Seconds to Mars. And that can't be a good thing.

i actually love this lineup lineup. keep in mind that most of the fun around lollapalooza is lollapalooza itself, which is one of the best run music festivals in the country....not so much about who is or isn't listed on the bill. i think it's pretty cool that it has stuff like my morning jacket, bright eyes, atmosphere, explosions in the sky etc....and at the same time is being headlined by artists that i listened to a lot when i was in high school...eminem, colplay, foo fighters. looks like another groovy time at grant park this year.

one addition that has me scratching my head is a perfect circle. is it just me or does that one in particular seem to be a bit out of place on this lineup. excuse my hard rock ignorance.

Oh definitely. I go every year and regardless of the lineup, it's always great!

Looks like a pretty decent lineup I think. I may just go ahead and plan this over PJ20. I haven't been to Lolla since 1997 so I'd like to do the Grant Park thing.

I wouldn't mind seeing Foo Fighters again - one of the best live bands I've ever seen - but 3 day passes are a bit out of my price range, especially since I'm trying to save $$ for PJ20. So, not this year. Hopefully next year. :(

Saw soundgarden in the front last year, which was pretty bad ass. I'll try to go to this, but think the PJ20 weekend will prevent that. Too close together

I was shocked at how great of a job all the people involved do, in order for things to run smooth. Food was great from all the vendors, and reasonably priced
