    I enjoy boom.

I am glad songs like Black, Betterman, etc all have the keys being played now.

Sorry, I don't agree with that. Just like I don't agree with you centering every post. There are certain things that we're just not going to see eye to eye on.

    LOL
  • Um, because he sucks and has ruined the band since he joined.

I truly believe that musical taste is subjective and all...

But in this case you're just plain wrong.

    imo, etc.

Ever since Ian Stewart pioneered ROck and Roll Piano (also please credit Johnny Johnson)......I much prefer rock with keyboards/piano
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

Am I one of the few who believe Boom is UNDERUSED???? I loved that intro to Love Reign Over Me and the intro to Inside Job, the piano sparkles and shines and adds and extra dimension to the bands sound on those more subtle tracks that haven't been there before. I hope the next album really utilises both the organ and the piano sound in ways that other artists have, yet without it ever overpowering the song. Live Boom kicks ass on songs like crazy mary but i think they just turn him right down on heavier tunes, probably for good reason as Spin The Black Circle really does not need a hammond B3 hammering away behind it. Although if he was given a bit more space to experiement on lighter songs live it could really add more. Take for example In My Tree from either live at the garden or the gorge 2005 (cant remember which now) but the Boom really brings the tunes to life. I think those that dont like boom are just stuck in the past, afraid of new beginnings and unwilling to move on.

As long as they dont get big backing vocalists wearing long gowns shaking their arse in a little side to side shuffle or a brass section all is good ;)
    JUST PLAY THE F***ING NOTE!!!

I'm sure he is a nice guy, but some songs just don't need an organ.
Yes I agree. I think he's a great addition.... but only needed for certain songs...

Examples: state of love and trust.. IN my Tree ( Mike sounds better by him self)...porch... ect

How can you guys hate on an Andre the Giant sized smoked out Hawaiian hiippie that plays keyboard? LOL While I agree that you don't REALLY need a keyboard player in PJ, he DOES add to them when needed. I'm sorry, but I can't see how you could hate him after seeing him and McCready jam away during a Crazy Mary solo! I think I might have to wear one of the Wishlist Foundation's Boom shirts to one of the shows this year just to piss people off! LOL :)

Will Boom the Piano guy be on this tour?

I'm glad you clarified "the Piano guy" because I wouldn't have known which Boom you were referring to. :)
