Arrested on Saturday...

...or detained, I don't know, he read me my rights.


My taillight was out, he asked where we were coming from, I said the baseball game. Then I had to do a sobreity test...everything went fine, I'd had 2 beers at the game. But then I blew over the limit (.090)...I was SHOCKED. He cuffed me, put me in the car, then we went to the station. On the legal breathalyzer at the station, I blew barely over on the first one (.081) and under on the 2nd (.072). He let me go...didn't punch my license or anything. Just dropped me off at a burger king around the corner.

I have no idea what happens next...

    If he did not write you a ticket or give you a court summons he may have just felt that since you blew under no reason to waste court time and expenses.

    In North Carolina where i got mine I refused the road side test so they had to take me in and i blew a .09 then a .08. They take the lowest of what you blow so perhaps he thought since your .72 was under he did not want to waste time..

    That would be NICE and SMART of him two things in my experiences with the law usually do not happen so i will cross my fingers and hope you ran into a good cop.

    Trust me, I totally agree. I couldn't fucking believe it...I never get in a car if I've had more than 2 over the course of an evening. I had one when the game started at 6pm, another in the 5th inning...by the time I got to my car it was around 10pm.

    The cop was totally cool though, wasn't power tripping or being a dick. He even apologized for not grabbing my phone out of my car. All he said is that I "might" be getting something in the mail telling me what happens next...not sure what he meant by that.

    in my experience :roll:, the readings got higher as time passed. that's how my slick lawyer got me off, 23 years ago. he argued, yeah he was drunk at the station, but you can't prove he was legally drunk at the time he was pulled over.

    and I didn't get burger king....I got a night at the Graybar Hotel :cry:

    you went to what I presume was a Mariners game, and you had 2 BEERS?! good on you, the owners probly throw down 5 or 6 an inning.

    This is why I won't have a drink before driving. We have a warning level of .05-.08 where I live, it's ridiculous.

    2 beers? Really??? Something was rigged. That's impossible.

    When I was younger I made the mistake to have about 7 beers over a few hours and drive. I weight 160 lbs and blew a .085.. they actually let me go because I easily passed all of the physical stuff.. I don't drive if I know I can't and since then I never drive on more than a couple drinks.

    .05 will have you arrested and charged in Australia! [robably lose your licence for 3 months as well
    .08 is mid range, and means a minimum of 6 months without a licence, $1000 + fine

    my friend blew a .04 in NZ and could have been arrested, had his name in the paper, etc. luckily the police let him go. I don't want to know what I would have blown after show 2 in Philly when I got pulled over on the way back to B'more. Luckily I just got a warning for passing an unmarked officer on the right and doing 78 in a 65.

    thank god my buddy didn't get pulled over at philly 2. me and him woulda been fucked. we literally had 30 empty plastic cups near our seats and had to drive back to ny. really fucking stupid of me to let him drive my jeep. the worst part is we stopped a cop in to ask him where the rocky steps were so we could go running up them.

    i heard that from a cop before, 2 months later had a warrant in the mail.
