Do people really not have cassette decks anymore? And not just the people who are 15 and didn't grow up with tapes...Not that I use them a lot, but I still have a walkman and a stereo/boombox that can play tapes. It never occurred to me that I had to thrown them out. Yeah, I have the anti theft device in the car too, but can plug in a portable CD player or mp3 player with the adapter cassette. Best of all worlds.0 -

At $100, that's about $3.50 a minute. Think of it as a 36 minute phone sex call and $100 well spent

I still have really nice cassette players back in Australia in storage. Part of my old component Yamaha stereo system. That whole thing was quite pricey back in 1998 or so. I'd say that amplifier is missing a few outputs compared to day's models, huh!? I have so many cassettes back in Oz, mainly from the tape trading days. I remember some fella waited until everything circulated from the Yield tour, got them all, and just did B and P's with people for the whole tour in one hit. I got in on that action. I basically have everything available PJ bootelg-wise from 1990 to 1999 on cassette, not to mention all the offical stuff. A lot of other bands, too.My Pearl Jam shows: 1 in 1995, 2 in 1998, 20 in 2003, 13 in 2006, 3 in 2007, 8 in 2008, 5 in 2009, 4 in 2010, 5 in 2012. EV: 8 in 2011, 1 in 2012. Brad: 1 in 1998, 1 in 2002.0

I do see your point and I assure you, my dad's car still has a cassette deck and the only time I listen to cassettes it's when I'm in his car. I do have a cassette player at home, too. But if I had to buy a new (or supposed to be) released cassette I'd go on cds with no further thoughts.0 -
Oh I don't buy tapes either, but like the tape trader above I've got tons of old bootleg tapes, or regular album tapes I don't feel like buying on CD. Might as well keep around the gear to play 'em, should the need arise!0
