Now I know why that section of road was closed as me and my friend drove home tonight.

I feel for his family, the truck driver, and witnesses on what was Easter night.
His friends are idiots, they should have stopped him, they probably encouraged him to do it.

how the HELL can you possibly claim to know this? maybe they were yelling at him to stop, or maybe he did it too fast for them to stop him. very irresponsible comment.

When they are all drunk and drugged up outside the club they usually believe they can do anything.
If you read the article they were standing on the footpath watching....

truck driver now has to live with knowing he killed some guy. even though it was not his fault and there was nothing he could have done, it still can't be an easy thing to deal with.

there was the other story yesterday about a whole bunch of guys who left a pub drunk all in the back of a ute, it sped round a corner, a few of them fell out, one suffered massive head injuries, his mates who also fell out proceeded to collect the cartons of beer which also fell out, jumped back in the ute and left their dying or already dead friend on the road to be discovered by the next car that drove by.

    nice friends.

    Ridiculous... Poor family, poor truckie....

I will always remember my mum saying to me as a a 6 or 7 year old. Perhaps I didn't understand it at the time but 'every action has a consequence' I don't care how drunk you are, I have been plastered and not once thought running under a semi-trailer or walking along side a train line drunk (which is what young local kid did here a few years back).
