I would say The Chronic....just.
Both great early 90's hip hop records.

The Chronic all the way, but I kind of agree with Chris Rock's take on this subject.
Doggystyle, to me, is better than Dr. Dre's The Chronic. It has held up way better because it's a party album, and its lyrics are better. The Chronic is sonically incredible, but it's hard to drive around singing songs about "Eazy-E can eat a big fat dick." But I got a feeling I'll be singing "Gin and Juice" when I'm ninety.
  • Doggystyle, and I love both.

I love both as well. I'd have to give a full listen to determine which I like better. This is my fav of alltime though

great question. i love both albums, always have. i'm kind of partial to doggystyle though. it was the first cd i fell in love with from start to finish. i was ten years old. (probably shouldn't have been listening to gangsta rap)....but yeah, you can't go wrong with either. i like the chris rock quote.

Doggystyle every day of the week. Better beats. Better rhymes.

another good question. why has snoop not released anything close to the level of quality of doggystyle since that came out? still love snoop as a person though.

yeah i see that. but he only did one or two albums for no limit. he had plenty of time to construct another classic and just failed to do so. how about when eminem came out and dre released '2001'. snoop's guest spots on there are pretty nice. why didn't he have dre produce some beats for him and give it another go at a g-funk classic? no limit records is no excuse.

DOGGYSTYLE fo sho. Two of my favorite albums of all times. The Chronic was groundbreaking. Doggystyle upped the ante on beats and lyrics. However, I do think Snoop peaked with Doggystyle, whereas Dre came back with 2001, great collaborations and if he ever fuckin releases it, Detox which so far is sounding killer.

Ain't No Fun= best karaoke song ever. ...In my Chevy, six-fo' Rad to be exact

How do you all think Ice Cube's AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted (or his following two albums) rates along these two albums?
I love this album, it is more of a attack with its production, very Public Enemy like, I think the Bomb Squad worked on this album that is why.

he's actually saying " in my Chevy, six four, RED to be exact" it is thought he is saying this to prove affiliation with the Bloods. Suge Knight was a member at the time.

Agreed. Combined they're sort of a White Album of Gangsta Rap
