They didn't make a NBA LIve this year, but either way NBA 2k11 is better.

2K was always the better franchise graphics wise and in terms of gameplay... haven't played either since the gamecube days though

    NBA 2K11

the videos speak for them self's
  • EA quit making NBA Live. They attempted a complete overhaul called NBA Elite that never got released because they couldn't pull the game together the way they wanted before the season started. NBA 2K has been a far superior game for several years now. 2K11 is the first time Michael Jordan has been in a game since 1996 I think. 2K11 is a blast and I highly recommend it.

    never liked 2k series

having said that, I never played NBA(whatever)

The last NBA game I played was NBA Jams on super nintendo
  • Yeah there wasn't an NBA Live (or NBA Elite as it was going to be called) because the demo got trashed by everyone. They're taking another year off to try to get their shit together because those games have sucked for so long.

Seriously, NBA 2K11 is the greatest basketball videogame in the last 10 years hands down.

NBA Live used to be great, but it just can't keep up with 2K.

Having played, and owned both these games (I sold Live '10 when I got 2K11) I think that NBA 2K11 is far superior. Graphically, animation, and gameplay, it's really just a better game.

i've always hated those NBA 2k or nba live games on xbox for some reason. i had a few of the earlier 2k games and didn't like them, picked up NBA ballers for $10 new one day, played it for about half a day, then traded it. got the new version of NBA Jam last year, and it was pretty cool, it was good that you could play through and unlock all the players from the original and the presidents and team mascots and stuff. it's fucking great for 2 or four players, if you are sitting round with a couple mates having some beers.

I rarely play PS3 either, been unemployed for 4 weeks and only just turned it on.
I am proud that I am not addicted.
Bought it close to 6 months ago and hardly ever play it.
But would love a basketball game, something new.

It's worth it. I play the game pretty regularly. The My Player mode is great. You can develop your player to be a legend and play continuous seasons, request trades, gain sponsorships and branding...

The Jordan moments are a fun challenge too. I'd agree that this is probably the best basketball game made, in terms of being realistic. I still hold a spot in my heart for NBA JAM. 8-)
