  • I would say start with it still moves and Z. they are a little more accessible than the earlier albums, however Tennessee Fire is awesome.

Cool - thanks everyone. I think I'm going to start with Okonokos. I gave them a chance a couple of years ago, and they just weren't for me, but I don't think I REALLY gave them a chance.

I also strongly recommend Okonokos. It's a great representation and gives you a taste of the live experience which (I suspect) has thrown most of us who love this band over the top. If you want to go studio album next, I would go It Still Moves.

Anywhere but Evil Urges... that album just didn't do much for me, and I'm fan of all their stuff. For a great cover check out their take on Erykah Badu's Tyrone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPsw5ssi-58

I started with Z and then went to At Dawn. This was right when Z came out. I would recommend this to others who are just starting to listen now.

I agree that Okonokos is the perfect start...a lil material from everywhere. I think that Z was the first album that really hooked me. Everything is gold from this band, some stuff just takes longer to soak in. Their earlier stuff is definitely more country. Here's a taste of Oko

MMJ took a couple years to click for me. I gave up on them for the most part.

then, i saw them live. I am addicted now
