So When Will Pearl Jam Be Inducted Into The Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame?

No doubt they go in on first ballot entry, but my question is when will they become eligible? I mean, it took Madonna this long to get in and simply for longevity, she was a no-brainer. Will it be another 10 years for them to get in?

    No about 3-5 more years
Or does it have to be 25 years? If so then about 8

so I guess they have a while. Is there a chance that Vedder gets in as a solo artist as well or will it just be the band?

Had he released a solo album 25 years ago, yes...but He hasn't really been a solo artist until recently.

it doesn't matter if they break up. The Beatles were part of the initial inductees and they hadn't been a band for 15 years at that time. Induction is based on when their first recording was released and it is a min. of 25 years from that date. The release date of "Ten" will drive their induction.

    good question.
I would be surprised if they make it the 1st year they are eligible. Will Nirvanna go 1st?

    Dave Abruzzese?

No seriously, I'd guess Neil Young but who knows?

Vedder will be eligible as a solo artist in 2032.

Nirvana will go first as Bleach came out before Pearl Jam released Ten and there is really no question about Nirvana getting in first ballot.

talk all you want about how bands are shoo-ins on a first ballot.(Not that I dont agree with PJ being a shoo in)

if thats the case The Stooges should already be in...and they arent.

Hed have to stake out a career as a soloist first. I dont even think PT is in as a solo.

Nirvana was a great "in the moment" band. It's a shame it all ended like it did, we'll neverknow what the band could have done.
    I don't think they'll get in.......

Of course Nirvana will get in are you crazy? They get credited for Everything. My question is whether Alice in Chains or Soundgarden will, which i think they have a great chance. AS far as who gives the speech, i would have to say someone from a band who is popular right now like the strokes or my morning jacket.Obviously it would be from someone who was hugely influenced by the band. BUt it would be amazing if it was Pete Townshend.

To be quite honest, I think Eddie is very well liked in rock circles by the people that count and Pearl Jam are very well respected as a band for their contribution to rock, longevity and activism. It would be hard to believe that they would'nt get in first ballot, along with Nirvana they were somewhat pioneers for bringing alternative rock into the mainstream, Nirvana obviously credited as being 'first' and rightly so. Nirvana, however, will be inducted first ballot two years earlier becuase their debut Bleach was released in 1989. So Pearl Jam are a very good chance of being inducted immediately when the time is up (25 years after release of debut record).

I think the better question is will Soundgarden be inducted first ballot?
