What you see while you are awake is death, and what you see while you are sleeping is life. - Heraclitus

Everything we see and perceive in this world is shadows and reflections of their correspondences from the world of ideas. - Plato

The world of our senses is an illusion. - Parmenides

Said by ancient Hellenes (Greeks) 2400 years ago and yet they are still ahead of our time and ahead of our discoveries in quantum physics.

They are ahead because they reached the higher levels of consciousness, when those levels are reached, you see beyond time and space so one is not limited to the boarders of our known world while living life.

seeing the straight path, no obstructions. Just a clear wide view of things.

Knowing that at this exact moment, other potentials, other worlds are going on, right now, we just can't see them because we are still stuck in our ego world. Hence the seeking to raise ones consciousness which is what Plato, Buddha and the rest spoke so much about.

The entire system is quite brilliant, all we need to do is free ourselves from ego, which is the true cause of just about all trouble in the world, it's very basic, yet so often ignored.

and it can happen in an instant, a blink of an eye to realize and wake up,

Lucid dreaming is something very interesting to look at, the realization of knowing where you are, then being able to tap into an ocean of potentials. The power of the mind.

I truly hope and believe that the next era we enter into is one of universal consciousness. Seems very far off, but I'm all for it, and with more people turning to meditation and interest in Buddha as well as turning against organized religion in general, I believe it's possible.

Well we need to return to the singularity, perhaps a sort of Quantum state of singularity.

But I think it will become easier (as we raise our consciousness) to fall into a negative universal consciousness, like a man made algorithm, where is we should be falling into the natural algorithm of life. But again it's about our ego, and our ideas based on that same ego that gets up to walk away from the reality.

I don't have a problem with religion. I believe. In my opinion, lots of people ought to read the ancient Greek philosophers. And I'm not saying that because I'm from Greece. Give it a try and you will understand.

The universal consciousness is not as far off as you think. It's here. It's now. It's in you at this very second. We are all part of it right now. It is creating this very moment we are in. Awareness is required to connect into the universal consciousness. Acceptance of its potentiality is the next step to have the universal consciousness rise to meet your needs. Compassion and Love for everything keeps you from losing your connection to selfishness (ego).

Simply recognizing that there is a universal consciousness is Awareness. Good and bad are equal parts of every potential, for which we must have Acceptance to choose the potential that fits our path at the time. Compassion and Love keeps us grounded through it all.

Give it a go. It's easier than said. Really.
Lots of love, light and hugs to you all!

Interesting. I've often felt more perceptive in my dreams/semi-consciousness. Poems and ideas come to me that I wouldn't normally get.

When you say you don't see it nowadays, what you mean is that you don't see people seeing it, correct ?
If so, then that means you do see it because you see the separation between universal consciousness, the actual reality that exists, and the reality people make outside of the actual reality ... is that not so ?
    Pap wrote:

    I respectfully disagree.

I think the reason for one thinking that it may be harder than said is because it seems more of the population doesn't have a clue about love & compassion even though we are biologically wired to love and that the external world is what eventually drives that from us or corrupts that in us. One has to have a genuine sense of empathy to succeed in their relationships, at home with loved ones, work, play, and with the universal consciousness. Once you learn (or see) that an actual reality (universal consciousness) exists with or without you (because it does) then if you don't act accordingly to what benefits the collective by choosing to be lost in the external, you have now become the fool. Once you know you know and everyone finds out in one form of another. That now makes it your choice to love all or just love parts of it and yourself. Like it or not, actual reality exists with or without you. You can't change the fuckin universe unless you live with it.

Ever notice that people's disappointment, ignorance, sour moods etc., always follow the times when their needy ? TURN OFF YOUR TELEVISION!

Also, in my opinion & what makes absolute sense to me in the reason most (though I'd like to think less), can't grasp the universal consciousness is the paradox that follows. If indeed we are to resign to the universal because it is the known & it is truly God, the 'brain' if you will, then by knowing that & knowing that it is our choice and not forced upon us, the universal tells us that there is a possibility that we may be greater than the universal. So then, how can one think that the universal is greater & to be submitted too, have faith in ? ha ha
Going to be an interesting day today ... 8-)

Old news ? huh? Old news would assume that we have gone beyond the news presented and have evolved from it and it is no longer needed to present the issues.
Your 'old news' comment, give or take, is one of the most useless statements I've ever read. It closes the discussion of the actual conversation. Stating it is old news changes the topic to another topic. That now presents me with evidence that you just said it to say it. No thanks, I'm not buying.

Turning off your television is false philosophy ? Um, no it's not because turning off your television is actually beneficial to the human being doing so, making it truth. Believing the ideas projected through your television without evidence and with a sense of urgency for you to conform is where the 'false' occurs.

Are you serious dude, because for someone who states that he has read the greek philosophers, you truly are contradicting what is to be read by reading them ?

I guess that just may be what you do.

One more thing, are greek philosophers not old news ? :o

I may or may not agree with the being wired for love statement. I will admit that I like to think so and that it was an error on my part to just write love. I meant we were wired with empathy & compassion which is what I meant by using the word love. I don't mean the phrase "I'm in love."

Wow...coincidences are cool. This morning when I woke up I was thinking about some things about life and then I realized that because english is your second language, I might miss-understand you and what you mean because I probably speak a different english. My english & argument contain sarcasm, for example, and yours may not. I am now aware of that and it seems you are too :D
