Best Pearl Jam Book?
Murderers.

I've just been looking on amazon, and there's a hell of a lot of PJ books on there.
I was just wondering what people would recommend, as they all have mixed reviews.
Thanks.

I read Five Against One, but it only goes up to Yield, and hardly touches on anything interesting past the whole ticketmaster thing (which personally i find a drag to read about).
What about 'Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder: None Too Fragile'
it has mixed reviews though...
I've never read that one, but will take a look for sure.....
I think an up to date book on the band is long overdue, preferably one that focuses more on the band post Yield.....

I read Five Against One (or most of it) years ago and came to regret my decision. I'd love an authorized book about the band and the music, but I really didn't need to read about Eddie's high school girlfriend or his relationship with his family. I prefer NOT to know about that kind of stuff.
its the best book by far...tells alot of truth, some that people dont wanna hear
Same here, would love to read a book about them and their music more.....
especially recent stuff.....
Place/Date
no, it's...
5x1: Pearl Jam Through The Eye of Lance Mercer
I can't decide between the two.
i will say the chapters on the early history of the seattle music scene was interesting though.
that one's my favourite til the official autobiography comes out.
five against one and none too fragile are both kinda lame imho.
that big spin article they did a few years ago was good.
my advice is, if you're a fan you'll find the books hard to resist, don't spend too much on them though - buy secondhand.
i highly reccommend the two gina arnold books - route 666 : on the road to nirvana and kiss this : punk in the present tense - both have pearl jam mentions that are worth reading the rest of the books for. in kiss this she follows part of the no code tour, in route 666 she works up to the 'birth of grunge' - i think she's a great rock writer, it's just like being there.
when my ears ring, my heart beats
