need help with break video in parts

hi,i have a avi video of 19 minutes..how can i break it in 3 parts..can i do it with some kind of program?

    You could always use windows movie make if you do not want to download anything. Or try a program called virtualdub (free, but a bit complicated from the little I have done with it).
    Still can't believe I met Mike Mccready at the Guggenheim and got a pic with him!!!!!

    How big is the file? If it's not enormous, and you can't get MPEG Streamclip to work, you could upload it to me and I can break it up for you.

    that's a little big for uploading. MPEG Streamclip is pretty simple though. I can probably talk you through it if you can't figure it out. I'd just need to have the program open in front of me. Good luck
