  • with bands like Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock and ICP... how could it go wrong?

I went and it was an awesome/awful time. It was the worst run event I have ever been too, that plus the wrong lineup/crowd, extreme heat and $8 waters led to trouble. Then you hear the horror stories that went on and feel ashamed to say you were there. But on the bright side Metallica closing sat. night was great. Oh and fred durst is a prick.

I wanted to go to see a few of the bands playing. However, I was still in high school and there was no way in hell that my parents would let me travel so far by myself. Looking back on it and what happened, I'm glad I wasn't allowed to go.

"Some crowd violence and looting was reported during the Saturday night performance by Limp Bizkit, including a rendition of the song "Break Stuff". Reviewers of the concert criticized Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst as "irresponsible" for encouraging the crowd to destructive behavior."

And then in what year did that girl die at BDO while limp bizkit were on stage??

The most awful shit show ever. I usually use the term 'shit show' in an endearing way, but not here. Just absolutely horrible. RHCP burnin the place down with 'Fire' was pretty sweet, but the actual fires and rapes were not.

And not even mentioning how most of these bands weren't conducive to the Woodstock atmosphere.

"In 1999, certain media pundits[which?] chose to portray Limp Bizkit's performance of "Break Stuff" during Woodstock 1999 as a contributing factor in instigating the violence and vandalism which occurred at the festival. When asked to help defuse an already volatile situation by concert promoters, Durst told the crowd, "I don't think you should mellow out. This is 1999, motherfuckers - stick those Birkenstocks up your ass!" According to reports by certain media pundits, in response to the song, concert-goers committed acts of vandalism, tearing planks from the stage and throwing garbage at an MTV crew.[7] At least four women were raped at the concert;[8] one rape was reported by many witnesses to have been committed right in front of the stage during Limp Bizkit's performance.[9] When questioned about the incident, Durst was quoted as saying that he, "did it all for the nookie." "

How the hell can 4 women be raped in a single concert? wtf
    And Fred is a dickhead.

I went but it was a poorly planned on my part. I was 17 and had never camped before, didn't take any kind of sunscreen and planned clothing poorly as well. Got there on the Thursday before the shows began, wandered around paying way too much for water and food. That night, some people (russian's, I'm pretty sure) unstaked our tent and put theirs in place of ours, while we were still sleeping in it! I can say that I like being able to say I was in the mosh pit for James Brown, but by the end of the first day of concerts, I was miserable, and so was my best friend. We ended up leaving Saturday morning, taking a bus back to Detroit. I still regret leaving because I didn't even get to see the bands that I was interested in seeing, namely Metallica and RHCP, but it probably was for the best that I did leave. I would most certainly have been rioting and burning shit with the rest of the people because it was a very poorly planned, over-priced event.

I wish I was there just for Rage...
94 woulda been cool. I watched that NIN set again a few weeks ago, so intense...
  • BEST SHOW OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!
Rage, Metalica, RHCP and too many to remember. Plus, nobody raped me  Although Limp Bizkit is a douche, their show was awesome along with Kid rocks. I flew from Seattle and it was the best line-up I have ever seen.
