WTF is wrong with kids today?
What is causing this kind of behaviour?
The world is going mad.

that is so fucking sad

  • Parenting. That is what is different.

My friend has a daycare facility in her home and 3 of the 5 kids she takes care of have parents that don't have a job or anything but take the kid to daycare just so they can sit at home and do nothing. We're fairly certain that they are on unemployment or welfare. Sometimes the kids come in their pajamas and haven't eaten breakfast when they get there.

People are just trying to phone in the repsonsibilites of being a parent nowadays, and kids never learn about responsibility or accountability, among other things.

I have a two year old and I won't let this happen to him... he already knows the phrase "man up."

That, and I think he is convinced I will either a) eat him or b) make him disappear if he is bad. :D

    they learn from adults
we steal their youth by teaching them to be consumers at age 4
we steal their youth with the soft-porn network called disney
we steal their youth with almost every movie glorifying violent deaths
we steal their youth with video games preparing them for the acceptance and glorification of war
and then we take their lives and sanity by sending them to fight wars, not for freedom, but for oil and money
    that said
the 7 responsible should spend some time in jail
    just so they remember

Agree with you 100%. Between my mother being a teacher and my wife being an ER nurse, I've heard all sorts of crazy/sad/infuriating stories and it seems that most of them are because of bad parenting.

I see your point. There are alot of lazy parents out there--me being one of them sometimes.

However, you don't know what else those parents may be dealing with. They might not work, but there may be other responsibilities and people they have to answer to. Also, it is good for those kids to be socialized, play with other kids, and have some time out of the house. It might be better for them to be there rather than couped up all the time with mommy and daddy who are unemployed and financially miserable.

Those parents might have other family members who are dragging them down. I speak from experience. If you would like me to elaborate I will.

I completely agree. Both of those articles were so damn sad and ultimately so sick. I read them with Man of the Hour playing on my ipod in the background, and both stories really got to me. I just can't fathom WHY people would do this stuff. I hope those bastards get what's coming for them.

there is story going on right now in Vancouver about two youths, 16, 17 who did terrible, grisly things to an 18 yr old classmate. They have just announced that they will indeed be tried as adults which is a good thing. No chance of parole for 10 years. Several psychologists have come forward and said that both offenders are dangerous sociopsycopaths. Their crime is beyond comprehension, but if you want to read about it, google Kim Proctor. At one point during their crime, they actual were on public transit with her body in a duffel bag, and then they bragged about it all in text messages to friends. KIDS ARE FUCKED UP.

I think kids today have a lack of guidance and direction. Parents seem to be 'I'm not going to be strict like my parents were' and let their children run wild.

There is a case here where a teenager, I believe he was 15-16 and him and a few friends robbed and beat to death a well known street performer. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/l ... an05m.html

Nobody came forward to be a witness, so they had to let the kid go. Since then he has had run ins with the police, and more recently, has bragged to the police that he committed murder, and got away with it.

For some reason, it seems that people have less and less empathy for each other.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

I dont necessarily think there is a greater incidence of bad behavior. I do think that the misbehavior is more violent and severe than they were in the past. Its not just the parents, there is only so much you can control. Cable, the internet, video games, movies, music lyrics, the news-kids are bombarded with images of violence in the information era.

I used to be able to say "things like that don't happen here." I can't say that anymore, these things happen everywhere. It simply makes me sick. Who are these children? Who are their parents? How do these things happen?
Speak then to me, who neither beg nor fear your favours nor your hate.
  • Serves us all right.

This world is filled with societies that hold idiots in reverence and promote stupidity.

People paying consequences for their actions is becoming a thing of the past. Accepting responsibility, taking blame, manning the fuck up? All things of the past. Children aren't disciplined, education is pushed by the wayside as standards are constantly being lowered, we're handing out free shit to reward every piece of shit who feels like having 5 kids by age 23 instead of worrying about financial responsibility and sturdiness.

This is only the beginning. Jesus, Mohammed, and Barack Obama are all powerless in this mess.

Bring on the chaos! I'll be in my beach chair with my shades on, laughing in 25 years when we're too stupid to develop alternative energy sources, advance technology, and feed our exponentially growing populous. But hey, every kid will have passed high school with straight A's, so, fuck it, we'll all feel good about ourselves for a few years leading up to it.

    Anarchy is building.
I knew it all along, see?

I wouldn't say people beating up people for no good reason or killing wildlife is anything new.

Humans have always had crazy ones. You can't blame any of this on modern society. Modern media just reports more of this and there are more of us to make more of these acts.

    "Thrill killing", eh?

    I'll give them a thrill.
I'd love to give them a thrill.

I have no remorse for anything that happens to them.
If there's a god, bring them to me. I'll gladly do the rest.

No doubt at some point they'll get caught. Confess that they are saddened by what they've done.
    But they wont be.

...let me fix that for them.

It's sad that some people are considered human by default because they walk erect. I've met wild animals with more compassion.

That's why Francoise and I decided not to have kids.

We both work for the French National Education and in the last 15 years, things really worsened.
