I'll have to think long and hard before I post my top ten. How about y'all?

Not a terrible list but I could certainly pick several better Beatles songs than Hey Jude. Dear Prudence is the first that comes to mind and I think there are better Zeppelin songs as well. I guess its all a matter of opinion really.

no disrespect to the op at all, i love making and reading lists like this, but i think it's just a ridiculous concept to even think about narrowing down a list and naming the ten best songs of the 60's. does rolling stone have nothing better to come up with?...anyway, seriously, so many great songs from the 60's. no way i could make a list, and i don't think anyone could and actually stand by it. you could put up ten songs by the same artist with ten different artists and the list would still be respectable. one thing to do albums, but songs? impossible....i'd still be interested to see what people come up with though.

From RS: Last weekend we asked our readers to vote for their favorite song of the Sixties. We have counted the votes and the results are in. As usual, if you're unhappy about the results, you only have yourselves to blame. We're just the vote counters.

No disrespect taken. I think it's a daunting task to come up with the 10 best songs of a decade myself. That's why I didn't post one of my own, just Rolling Stone's, and the purpose was to start a conversation about these kinds of lists (especially lists prepared by Rolling Stone and other such publications). That being said, I think the list looks rather....safe. Hard to argue with but you could also put several other lists with 10 songs from the 60's, and they would be hard to argue with as well.
