Sad has definitely got to be the most underrated. One of my top 5 PJ songs. Great overall song.
I'd also say that Cropduster and Marker In the Sand are quite underrated...

You know, ever since Pearl Jam Radio came on the air and songs that you never heard played on the radio when studio albums were released are now played regularly, I have begun to believe that the gap might be closing on some songs that I have always thought were great, but which so many had never heard at all. It might be just me though, because I listen to that station so much!
That said, outside of Yellow Ledbetter (which really cannot be considered 'underrated'), my favorite 3 songs from the Lost Dogs set are:
Undone
Down
Hold On
I believe all 3 are underrated. I hear Hold On with a fair degree of regularity on PJR...but Undone and Down, while played, are not played as often.
From the standard studio albums, I'll go with:
Force of Nature - IMO the best song on Backspacer because of the breathtaking imagery of the lyrics. Maybe one of my top 10 favorite PJ songs ever!
Light Years
Thumbing My Way - for the same reason as Force of Nature - wonderful imagery!
Deep - I know...how could I say that any song off of Ten is 'underrated'? But in the world of Ten, it is. :P
Maybe some of these arent all that underrated, some are though. And of course, some people will disagree. Captain obvious, right? But I guess, to me, the following songs are...underrated, under appreciated, not played live enough or at all.
Strangest Tribe
Last Soldier
Falling Down aka Fallen
Brother (Rough Mix version)
Insignificance
Thin Air
Thumbing My Way
You Are
Love Boat Captain
1/2 Full
Army Reserve
In Hiding
Light Years
Rival
Of the Girl
Johnny Guitar
Fuckin' Up
I've Got A Feeling
Parting Ways
Against the 70's
Alone
Dirty Frank
Black Red Yellow
Hold On
Other Side
WMA
Fatal
Sad
Girl
Happy When I'm Crying
Hawaii '78
Leash
Soldier Of Love
I Got Shit
Rats Red Mosquito

I'll second everyone saying No Way... one of my favorites for sure. (And boy did I lose my mind when the ripped into at PJ20!) Along with Otherside, Alone, and I'm Open.
But I also want to give a nod to Nothingman. All the friends of mine who are casual listeners and only really listen to Rearviewmirror never seem to mention it, and I don't hear the die hards talk about it much either. IMO its lyrical content along with Ed's conviction make it simply breathtaking.
"push me, pull me". i am sure this song is just seen as filler to some, but after reading jeff ament's comment about it recently being more of a rockier tune, it makes me appreciate it even more. if/when they release an expanded edition of yield, i would love for a take of the original arrangement to be included as a bonus track.
Lyrics are amazing on this song. Even the so called "throwaway" songs on the earlier albums had great lyrics. I miss the insanely great lyrics on the 90's records.
