....we lost my Dad to a short & intense battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). not a day goes by where I don't think about him. we all miss him terribly. i'm the youngest of four, and he never met 3 of our spouses and three of his grandkids. life is short....make sure you tell the ones you love how you feel about them. love you, Dad.

    Matt,
I hope all is well in your camp, and I'm sorry to hear about your dad. It's never easy. Thank you for showing me compassion at times when I needed it, and I've come to return the favor.

You're a wonderful soul which I'm sure you learned how to be from your family and friends, and I have no doubt that your father still lives on in you, is watching you and guiding you through this thing we call life.

"life is short....make sure you tell the ones you love how you feel about them" - great, great advice.

My thoughts are with you and your family...I'm sorry for your loss.

Wow, what an awesome picture. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your father; ALS is something I am way too familiar with. I have a family member going on her 5th year.. the disease itself is a dirty bastard, and I hope for the sake of all those affected a cure is found in our/their lifetime. I'm sure your family and your dad would be proud that you're doing such a great job of keeping his memory alive. Stay strong today.

Matt, I'm so sorry that you had to lose your dad too soon and to such a terrible disease. The fact that you think of him every day says a lot about the love he gave you and his influence on you. He must have been a great guy.

I lost my dad unexpectedly in October 2007 and I too think of mine every day. I agree with you how important it is to tell our loved ones how we feel about them and appreciate the time we have with them. In fact, that's one of things my dad impressed upon me.

Awww, Matt, what a great photo of your parents. Thanks for posting that.

Seven years, spouses and grandchildren... I'm sorry he wasn't here to share in that with you and your family.

But he left quite a legacy in all of you. And somewhere, he is beaming like is in that photo.
