Pearl Jam's Songwriting Process

I've been such a huge fan of Pearl Jam's music for so long. Eddie Vedder is one of my musical heroes. As a musician/singer songwriter, there has always been something in Pearl Jam's music, their songwriting ability and their ability to be prolific as songwriters that I've always strived for. I've never wanted to sound like them per se' (lord knows there have been enough people/bands being accused of trying to), although as a fan I'm sure that I can't help but be influenced by them on some level. I've always wanted to know what makes Eddie tick as a songwriter- to be able to get into his head somehow. I've never heard or read anything of him speaking about his songwriting experiences (he nor any of the other guys). How do they stay inspired or come up with new material as often as they do? Has anyone here ever read any interviews or watched anything that has given them a glimpse into Eddie's/Pearl Jam's creative process?

lol, I think he came up with the lyrics to Alive like that. Too bad i don't live near an ocean. But the occasional trip to Niagara Falls has had an amazing effect on me creatively.
