Hello Friends

This is a great piece of vinyl in perfect condition - the inside is a 20+ page book and you turn the pages with the record - great for kids and adults - I only listened to it once long, long ago

Just tell me you favorite personal StarWars story

I was like 6 years old when Jedi came out - I had been to a theater to see SnowWhite and 101 Dalmatians only - I had been to the drive in a few times...

Anyway back then we only got to watch StarWars like once a year when it came on TV same with EmpireStrikesBack - so my uncle walked 5 or 6 miles to my house right about the time my dad got home... Uncle Keith told me dad he was there to take me to see Jedi so he gave my uncle the keys and away we went... I was too young to read the Jabba the Hut subtitles and he had to read them to me, same goes for the opening credits - I'll never forget it - this was beyond child movie magic this was STARWARS at the theater loud and proud!!! What a great memory, can't wait to read yours

all shipping is on me

Back in the early 80's, when they put the trilogy in theaters again, my brother and I went to see them what seemed like everyday. I can't even think of how many times we saw them. Thanks for the chance.

Edit: Jedi came out in 83 I think, so must have saw that when it originally came out. I was 5 in 1980, so I don't recall what year it was.

My Star Wars Memory has nothing to do with the Movie. It has to do with Halloween. My aunt took me and my brother to buy our costumes and I just had to be ( I dont know his name) That monster/Guard thing that gets eaten by the huge one eyed monster that Luke kills by having the gate close on his head. He looked like a slimy green pig. Im sure some one on here knows who Im talking about. :D I loved that costume. I was like 5 when I got it and still remember

I had all the Star Wars figures as a kid...and I mean ALL of them. When I was about 10 or 11 I grew tired of them and had no use for them so I sold some and gave some to a friend as I thought they would get more use from the toys. He and his younger brother buried the figures (and the Transformers ones) in their back garden!!

It still pains me today that this happened. I've not forgotten and I didn't forgive!:lol::lol:

    How EXCELLENT!!

    Well, I love SW!
My best memory is when my Dad would go to trips abroad in the early 80's and he'd come back with some of the original figures for me and my brother! I used to love playing with those :-)
My worst memory, however, is coming back to live in Greece after many years abroad only to find out that all of my toys had gone missing, including all the original Star Wars figures and vehicles...

I've made some Star Wars illustrations and prints (some humour based ones too) and if you want, you can check them out here ;-) http://www.society6.com/studio/eyejacker/store

    Here's one of them

Long story short, like everybody else in the world, super excited for episode 1, so I got tickets to the midnite showing. Went with my brother and a few of his friends, and we tied one on before the show since we had all night to wait for the movie. About a minute after I sat in my seat at the movies, a person in full stormtrooper gear walked down the aisle and sat next to me, holding a large popcorn and soda. I tried not to, but I lauged so hard at the scenerio I was in.

Now to watch Fanboys again....great movie for all star wars fans.

I am the biggest Star Wars fan in this country. No Mess. I build Millennium Falcon models as a hobby..I'd love to have this record...anyways..
    Falcon's I've made..before and after
    DSC00415.jpg?t=1301958095

We went to see the Star Wars exhibition in London..all the props(lightsabers, blasters, original R2&3PO!, costumes(Boba Fett! The Emperor! Chewie!), starships (aaalll sortsa models..No falcon though :( ) and full scale stuff like Anakin's podracer, from all six films, all in these huge rooms with characters from the film walking around in costume..it was amazing...

anyways it was in a huge place and I got separated from my friends, and I was walking down this empty corridor and took a left. Just as I did, about 30 feet away down the turn I just took, is Darth Vader looking around(a guy in an exact replica costume(all the suit-lights & lightsaber working!) There he is. The man who haunted my nightmares as a child...all 7 feet of him or whatever he is..

so, he turns slowly, and sees me...
    kkhhoohhhhh kkissshhhhhh...

and Lurches and starts walking towards me, i'm frozen in fear...and lifting his right hand slowly as he comes, slowly forming a claw..like he was holding me frozen with the Force..

    all the while...the breathing..

    kkhhoohhhhh kkissshhhhhh...

    kkhhoohhhhh kkissshhhhhh...

he's stalking towards me..I'm frozen solid to the spot and i am f***-ing terrified!

He comes right up to me and just as he puts his hand right over my face..he's literally leaning over me..

    kkhhoohhhhh kkissshhhhhh...

I let out the biggest scream you've ever heard in your life

I'm not shitting you. I don't have to, think i shat myself a little bit.

One of the most amazing but scary things I've ever had happen to me.

thanks for reading. Hope I win :)

Wow as much as I want to win, eldarion75's story was awesome! I had the Return of the Jedi record like this as a kid and wish I still had it.
My favorite Star Wars moment is probably getting an R2D2 piggybank from my grandma as like a 5 year old for my bday. I still have it to this day and it's one of my favorite items in the world and wouldn't trade it for anything. She even has the words "Happy Birthday Michael, love Grandma" in the bottom on the feet. It's priceless.

how could one forget the opening scene of star wars in the movie theater? it was amazing to see the star destroyer crawling across the screen when i was just five years old. that sealed the deal for me, immediately after, begging my parents to take me to toys r us to get my vader, chewy and yoda action figures. little did i know, opening those hasbro packages would render their resale value later on in life on ebay. but i had to play with them. and i understand now why pearl jam fans play their records as opposed to keeping them sealed.

as a geek in my late thirties, i still love everything about star wars and i talk about it with whoever has the patience for me - arguing over who shot first, han or greedo, who amongst my friends would have the higher midi-chlorian count, how awesome boba fett really is, why ewoks are stupid or why star trek sucks. and to see how family guy or robot chicken has evolved the trilogies into something so bizarre, cracks my shit up.

here are a couple pics of my desk at work showcasing my geekdom.

Would love to have that...been a huge part of my life and I passed my love for it to my nephews and am now looking forward to passing the love of Star Wars to my 18 month old kids. This would be a nice start. Gotta give props to Eldarion though...great story.

i can't remember what it was that drew me to star wars... i think i was just the right age at around the time the reissue came out... and old enough to be excited and disappointed by the new ones... still collected the fuck out of all those toys... all i can remember as far as childhood toys were those and legos

as hypercritical as i am about most/all things, the original star wars just seems to transcend any of that... and there's plenty to get caught up on if you pick it apart... but whats the point?? its pure movie magic... i love a good story of redemption

i'll still sit and watch the entire trilogy anytime they play them on tv

    Force bump :ugeek:
  • My parents tell me that they went through 3 beta (before VCR) machines because I would stick my star wars figures in it because I wanted to watch them. I still have my R2D2 from when I was 5...

also, I work doing editing and videos and stuff and I always put the Cantina Band song in my pieces...It's illegal to use copyrighted material but I do it very subtly and I never get caught...

Two stories - one from "back in the day" and the other from "today" -

Story #1) When star wars was released I was 2. I knew what it was by the time I was 5 and bugged my parents constantly to let me watch it. Finally, Star Wars made its "network premier" in the U.S. Around 84-85 I think (after it had grossed hundreds of millions!!) and I got to watch it on TV. Of course we recorded it to VHS (which I thought was the coolest thing ever - none of my friends had VHS in those days! That was one of the fondest memories I have from childhood :)

Store #2) Last month my wife and I met some friends in the bay area to go skiing in Lake Tahoe, and on the way up to Tahoe I was asking the other man with us what he was doing working in San Fran. He told me he had moved out there because his buddy had purchased George Lucas's old company - I said what! which company? And he went on to explain it was the portion of Lucas Films that did live special effects, including the property where they filmed the majority of the Star War's pre-cual. Long story short, we got a tour of the place on Sunday afternoon, saw a ton of photos from back in the 80s and also saw a model of the ship from Pirates of the Caribean that they had build for a scene in that movie! Really cool stuff!

Anyway - great thread and really cool vinyl!!!

not my band - just a cool audio creation of mine... let me know if you dig it - you may have gotten a straight audio cd or you may have gotten a CD/VCD (cd-r either way) but one will only play in your cd player the other will only play in a dvd player or a computer

At the end of track 2 is that Korn with the bagpipes? And is Can't Keep from Burn to Shine? It's kind of weird, but in a good way.

That's pretty cool. Liked the stories here too.

Anyway thought this might be a good place to ask, anyone know of or have a Han solo in carbonite figure, I have seen a Lego star wars one in the box for the slave1 but I ain't gonna pay $200 just for Han.

Ayway the reason I ask is I'm looking for it to put in a display case with my Han solo addidas I have:

I'm pretty sure I have a couple of them. They aren't in the box, but I am willing to part with one. I'd just have to find them.
