I saw Tres Mts in Boston with virgin ears. The show was great. I picked up the cd while at the show. Been listening to the album over and over. I wish I had heard the album prior to seeing the show, but it made for an interesting live experience. The album gets better every time I hear it. Having witnessed the frenzy over the recent EV presale, it makes me wonder if most fans truly understand that PJ is more than just EV. Where was all that love for Tres Mts. Jeff is the godfather and his effort with Tre Mts is a breath of fresh air.

I see what you're saying. It was awesome seeing 2/5's of PJ on the stage Sunday night. However that tiny club didn't sell out. I bought the album at the show too. It's awesome. What do you mean by "virgin ears"? I think most people realize that PJ is more than just EV however he is the face and voice of the band.
    Boston 5/17/10
    Tres Mts. 3/27/11
    EV Solo:Providence 6/15/11 Boston 6/16/11 Hartford 6/18/11
    PJ20 9/3/11-9/4/11

Concert Wishlist: I am Mine, Marker in the Sand, Parachutes, In Hiding, All Those Yesterdays, I Got Shit, Long Road, Light Years
  • I downloaded it the night before the show and listened to it like 10 times on Sunday, and 1 more time on the way to the show... from Pepperell, Hey Neighbor!!!

Virgin ears was referring to not hearing the album prior to seeing them live. I know that little club did't even sell out and that's what I mean with the whole EV thing. Had it been Ed, you wouldn't have been able to get into the place. I understand Ed's appeal, deservingly so, it just would've been nice to see more support for Tres Mts.

Isn't Varnum Brook a school in Pepperell? I lived there from 1st to 4th grade. Good to hear from neighbors.

Oh I thought it might have been you'd never seen PJ in concert or something.

  • The DC show was full of awesome energy and alot of fun to be at!!! I like that McCready was tossing so many picks to the crowd. Also, Nate Rapolle's project Gull was inspiring and so much fun to see as well!!

Oh man. I was born in 1978 so I guess roughly 85-88

Gull blew me away in Boston. 2 songs, roughly 45 minutes, it was incredible. Got to meet Nate, picked up his vinyl at the show, what a genuine nice guy.

    1979!

Back to the topic at hand, Tres Mts was a great show. Watching Mike fly around up close was awesome! I was on Jeff's side. Jeff has always been the man to me- going back to the Varnum Brook days! I cant believe we saw them for only $20! Could not get tickets to EV in Boston, but I got Providence!!!

  • I scored a single ticket through the second chance for the EV show in Hartford. So grateful for that! 20 dollar ticket prices would've been nice but I really can't complain. Jeff is the man. I once heard a Seattle radio announcer call him the most half-assed bass player in music today. I hope that guy is out of a job!
