I've seen alot of hate for Beck on here lately, but I think he's great - one of the finest innovators of our time. Anyone feel the same? Favorite album?

I like Beck and always will :)
I agree with your statement of him being 'one of the finest innovators of our time.' And the thrill of a live Beck-concert is amazing.
I remember back in 2000 where he was going to play at a festival in my hometown. The festival itself is set in a beautiful forest, and he didn't believe he was going to play in a forest, so while we were setting everything up, stage, electricity and so forth, he himself (Beck) came out to see if it was true that the venue was a forest. Great guy, relly funny and as anti-diva as a musicman can be.
Og yeah and an am - wait for it - ZING! Concert - it saved my year in 2000.
Fav. album is still "Mellow Gold" with "Odelay" on a solid second.
Have fun, walk hard and stay alive.
  • I am a huge Beck fan. What is there to hate about this guy?

You guys aren't holding "Bogusflow" against the guy, I hope.

i feel 100% the same. the guy is amazing. he's a constant genre hopper and comes up aces every time. I love his tunes.

guero is a classic, guerolito was great too. Modern guilt was excellent. I didn't love the information however. midnite vulures is soooooo good.

i just scored this on vinyl, as posted in the "what i just picked up on vinyl" thread

it was only 5 bucks, it goes for a lot more than that usually. its original

I can't imagine how any fan of good music could hate Beck. He's changed his sound so many times there's bound to be an album for everyone. My favorites are Odelay and Midnite Vultures, but I really like all of his work.

I really like Beck, especially Seachange. Lost Cause makes me feel so sad but it's beautiful.
