I was planning on going to boston in the first week of May.
Can anyone offer any suggestions on where to stay(area/hotel) and what places to visit?

Definetly going to try and catch a red sox game or maybe a Bruins game if they are still in the playoffs.

You picked a great time to come down to our wonderful city! There's so much to see here, tons of restaurants and of course, the Red Sox.

Do you want to stay IN Boston? You coming here by yourself, with a significant other or with a family? My recommendations depend on the type of fun you wanna have. 8-)

My wife and I went to boston probably about 5 years ago when we first started dating. If you are looking for a hotel that is cheap there is the Motel 6 in Braintree. It is right across the street from the last stop Red Line of the subway. It was cheap and had free parking and being so close to transit it was just a 20-25 minute ride into the downtown core every day (which means we didn't need to pay for parking). That said we drove to Boston from Ottawa, if you were flying it might not be the best place to get to.

Just stayed at the Hilton on Broad St. 125 for the night (Friday). 3 blocks from fanual hall and right near the waterfront. Its also not on the bed bug registry website which is a plus.

I proposed to my wife in Boston right on the Water. There's a great park near the aquarium. Boston commons is really nice too.
