Not sure if this has been posted yet, I didn't see it in a search but here is a link for DCFCs new song. Nick Hexum from 311 posted it on twitter yesterday. Not bad.

In my mind Trans and Plans are two of the best albums of the last decade, and 2 of my favorite of all time.
They still have it though, for as much as people didnt take to Narrow Stairs like Trans and Plans, they created one of my favorite videos of the decade in Grapevine Fires, that was heartbreakingly brutal. And Cath is such a great song. Your new twin sized bed is great as well.
You nailed it with Your new twin sized bed. That song is just flatout great
Nick Hexum of 311 has a wide taste in music and his quote on this was "DCFC is one of my favs". Reading some interviews with Nick and seeing some stuff he posts on twitter you may be surprised at his taste. I may be on of the few on this board that love 311, but hey, I don't care
I really loved 311 back in the 90s. I really haven't gotten into their newer stuff, though. It doesn't surprise me at all that they would be into a wide range of music-- most people are these days.
Quite honestly, I think Plans is the crappiest hunk of crappy crap filled crap they ever released.
But, I was mildly surprised that Narrow Stairs kind of went back to who they were on Transatlanticsm. Far more than Plans did.
For me at least, Plans is by far their worst album. But I'm someone who adores the Something About Airplanes / Photo Album DCFC from way back when ... so, tastes certainly vary.
I thought the new song was alright, a little tired though.

When you stated they shot this "live", I thought you meant the song was live ... which it is not.
Just saying that because on Narrow Stairs, they released this video of them doing I Will Possess Your Heart live from the studio.

... haven't heard the entire new album yet, but I'm still going to say Possess is the best song they've released since Transatlanticism.
