Was just wondering if anyone knew of any good hostels or relatively cheap hotels close to the Arlene Sch.... Concert Hall. Thanks for any help. I am flying in from Calgary and have never visited Portland before.

Any hotel near the venue in downtown will be kind of spendy so you may want to stay elsewhere and take advantage of public transportation of just walk it.
I live in Vancouver, Washington which is about 20 minutes away. I know Portland but not well enough to give you specifics of any of the places. Perhaps there is someone here that can share more.
We are visiting Portland for the first time...and we are from Calgary. We also scored tickets to the show! We booked a fairly expensive hotel a block from the theatre. We want to be with in walking distance, and there is a beerfest in that area that weekend that we also want to attend. Good luck finding something inexpensive...we had initially ruled out staying close to the beefest because of hotel prices, but changed our minds once Eddie announced the dates. Its funny, because all of the hotels I had already looked at and ruled out due to cost, we were looking at again. As soon as I googled the location, I turned to Mr. Guitar, swore and said its the same area that we can't afford! I think we will sleep in the car on the way home
