...for Grunge to make a serious comeback. I wanna see a band come out that just rips like Pearl Jam or Soundgarden used to. I think a lot of people would be into it. This indie rock shit is getting so worn out and boring.

i agree but man now a days with modern production and the ways things are churned out, it would be brutally unoriginal. bands that try to do that whole thing are like godsmack etc .. while decent, no where nearrrrrrrr any of the original grunge bands. it just wont happen in that form of music.

I'm not talking alternative rock I'm talking about going for the early Pearl Jam sound. Godshit are influenced by grunge but they really sound nothing like it. Same goes for all the other alt. rock bands.

I just want some good rock and roll. Call it what you want. :)

I guess....I ve grown to hate the term grunge. PJ is NOT grunge..... If you think "ten" sounds like nirvana or mudhoney or aic or w-e then I think you need to re-listen. I'm just happy for a new album after all these years. Pearl jam is straight up rock, grunge was a media/marketing thing.

I don't really look at grunge that way. Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament freakin invented grunge in Green River. And, yes, Ten and Vs. are VERY Grungy.

Hair bands need to come back first so that grunge can crush them all over again.

There is still great music out there aside from the whole "emo" band scene or genre that has dominated the radio. I don't really listen to new Music on modern rock radio anymore. Now I listen to the classic rock or mix stations. I have also descovered some great local bands and independent artists that now make up the majority the new albums in my collection.
In a way, Grunge has never really gone away, it's just not the main focus on modern rock radio anymore. Also several bands from the Grunge era- on post grunge bands (though with some new members) have reunited and started playing live again recently within the last year (Pumpkins, STP, The Toadies ect, so I am thankful that the music is still alive and in rotation even though it may not be the main focus of the "in" thing for corporate radio.

Of course you can argue that grunge has never gone away. But THE Grunge, originated by Soundgarden and Green River and The Melvins and Malfunkshun... is gone. I'm saying that should come back.
