I just don't "get" Pearl Jam like you do. songs like Help Help and Bushleager are too sophisticated for me. and Arc? wow....way too innovative for me. looping his vocals like that? it really is sad that I don't see the brilliance in it.

Although it was the first Pearl Jam record I wasn't totally into even after repeat (and constant) listening, it has grown on me. Especially after hearing most of the songs live. That adds to the beauty of the originals. 1/2 full is now my 3rd favorite off the record (Mansfield 2 08 baby!!), after You Are and All or None.

Count me in. Riot Act stayed in my CD changer for many months after its release. Yes, some parts don't work as well as others, but on the whole I think it's terrific. I was quite surprised when I read Bill Simmons of all people (The Sports Guy)--a guy whose opinions seem to align fairly closely with mine, his complete and unalloyed Boston homerism notwithstanding (suck it, buddy, back-to-back Manning SB MVPs)-- saying how bad he thought it was...oh well.

Hey, remember... "nay" means you don't like it. You meant, yay.
Sure does right after the last song, so true. Very good point.
...and it's "yea" by the way.

It's downhill after Green Disease (which isn't that good either in my opinion). I like 1/2 Full......but it doesn't save it.
