I noticed that all of your vinyl had protective coverings on them. Any suggestions where I could buy those in bulk to save myself a little bit of lettuce? I'd be interested in buying around 400-500 of them, if not more.
thanks mang, im uploading my Classic Rock Collection as we speak, its big, three parts. Check it out soon!
I already have my Old School Hip Hop Vinyl Collection up too, its the most viewed one on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSKdKoEWzfo
As for the sleeves, just go to a record store, I'm sure they will sell them to you, mine do. They buy em bulk, they are dirt cheap.
Gwen Stefani is my celebrity crush. I'm very jealous of Gavin Rossdale. Back in the day her pink hair used to rev my engine.
Very cool, I can't wait to see it! Are they all yours or have you had some help from family members before you like I have?
hahaha, i didnt mention IT! i bought that to spin at a party I was djing, new years 2004. "What you waiting for" was huge! and the party went off! The picture disc version that I have goes for 60 bucks on ebay at least, i see.
I've had some minimal help from family members, few here, few there. I do a lot of flea market shopping, we have a great one here in Vancouver every saturday. My dad still has his collection and I asked him "are you gonna keep those things forever?" and his reply was "FOREVER AND A DAY!" he's got some great stuff in his...
Not to be morbid, but make sure that he's left those to you in his will. I promised my old man I wouldn't put him in a home if he left me his vinyl. Good deal for both parties.
It looked like the vast majority of it was opened. Just still in shrink.
Side Note to OP: Nirvana: Live @ Reading is pronounced 'Redding'
and yes, i was wondering when someone was going to call me on the Live at Reading thing!
That's good, I just really couldn't tell as I saw they were all in protective coverings. I've never understood the hoarding of vinyl. If you're looking for an investment, why not try the stock market? I love the sound. I can understand why you'd want to save the one vinyl you have still wrapped though. I can also understand if you wanted to buy duplicates of records you enjoyed for preservation sake.
Very excited about the upcoming Record Store Day. I'm planning on making a whole day out of it. I've never called places in advance but I think I'm going to this year to see what they have.
I actually had my mind set that it was something of that nature, but it looked like water was in it or something. Very very neat photo.
it's cool to see someone else that likes the Detroit Cobras, and I didn't know Paul Murphy of Wintersleep had a solo project (Postdata, very good news!). I'm definitely checking out some bands you mentioned.
you should listen to Wintersleep's newest album New Inheritors, especially since you like My Morning Jacket. I detested New Inheritors at first but gave it a go a month later and loved it after the 2nd listen. you just have to know it's not going to have the same sound as their first three. Band of Horses are also great.
thanks! and yeah, new inheritors is AWESOME. at first was shocked at the sound but the middle of that record is so great. I actually have gotten to KNOW wintersleep....i have a couple of their numbers in my phone and they get me into gigs and we have beers...kinda neat...you can see some vids of them in my other videos on youtube.
anyways, for those interested here is the classic rock vinyl, just uploaded:
