if you have some places in mind that you've come across why not list them and get some opinions for the locals? ;) there are decent hotels within walking distance that won't cost an arm/leg. why not make an offer of ~$50 initially and see what happens for a hotel like the Delta Chelsea or a similar 3/2.5-Star Hotel.

it should be noted that, after having used priceline for the 1st time last month during the PJ tour to secure rooms in Hartford and Mansfield for VERY cheap prices, i'm astonished as to why i never bothered using the site before, i HIGHLY recommend it!

a very good hotel for a very decent price, and about a 10-15 minute walk by foot to the venue. you're VERY close to some of the more prominent "tourist spots" not to mention some very fun areas/neighborhoods to walk/shop/visit,...

Two other hotels of note: Bond Place and the Delta Chelsea, both of which are within a short walk of the venue, both of which are quality places to stay. The Metropolitan is a bit further away, but it's also very good. I'm going to be staying at my own house, which is better than any of these places and which is also free...but for those of you who don't have that luxury, you can't go wrong with these three! ;)

I'm in for the Sheraton $92.93 a night! See you there! Done and booked.

It would be cool if we could get a lot of out of towners staying at the Sheraton. We could all have some drinks, etc. before the shows!

Those are REALLY good prices for the Sheraton! It's a beautiful hotel and prime location, beside the entertainment district and across from Nathan Phillips Square. I'll be staying closer to the venue though, in my own bed! It will however will be my first shows at Massey Hall! Can't WAIT!!!

How long is it the walk if I walk on my hands?

I just got the Delta Chelsea for $70 per night on priceline, 5 minutes ago, fyi. I've stayed at the Delta before and it is quite nice and close to Eaton center and in the middle of downtown Toronto.

Here's a question for Toronto-ians? Okay - I've driven into Toronto many, many times, and many many times during rush hour, 401, to DVP, and ouch. So what I'd like to do is park at somewhere like Pickering or Oshawa and take the GO train in the rest of the way and avoid the traffic. My main question is will I have a problem parking at one of those stations? Is there enough parking?

plenty of parking at the go stations ... depending on when you park it tho it could be a spot far away because all the commuters are at work ... or just plan not to drive in during rush hour ...

Thanks - yeah I don't mind the walk if I have to park far away as long as there is a place to leave the car. I usually can't leave before 10:45-11am, due to a class I teach, which means I'm pulling in to TO around 4, but if I stop in Oshawa or Ajax or something it would be earlier, maybe 3-3:30.

Just be careful with last train departure times: the last eastbound GO Train leaves Union Station at 12:13am, so it doesn't really give you a lot of time to stick around after the show. Speaking strictly from personal preference, I think you should drive downtown and park under City Hall--it's cheap ($5 for the night) and it's about two blocks away from Massey Hall. You shouldn't have too much trouble driving into town during rush hour; you'll be going against the grain.

Otherwise, Oshawa/Pickering will both be fine. Whitby might be sketchy, tho.

Thanks for that - I'll be staying overnight in Toronto though, so I won't have to worry about the last train that night. That's good to know about City Hall parking though. Even though I'm going into town, I've been caught up in traffic quite often (granted the guys going out have it worse).

BeerBaron, I think I use Priceline every time I go to Toronto now - you always get something decent. Its a great city to use priceline with. (Of course if that gets too known, maybe all the prices would go up!)

That goes to show you how using Priceline properly (with the name your own price feature) can save you so much cash! Too bad fatal had to be the test subject here but you guys got the exact same hotel and you paid half the price. Fatal either didn't use the name your own price option or he just bid way too high.

BeerBaron...i think you misunderstood...i got the Sheraton for $70 a night...that was my bid. But it was all thanks to this thread...
