10 Bands Shaping The Post-Nirvana Era

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeff-pollack/10-bands-shaping-the-post_b_838771.html

Pearl Jam: As a contemporary of Nirvana in the early days of the Seattle grunge scene, the band grew in the 90's into one of the consistently top bands around the globe. Known from the beginning as a great live band, they have grown a passionate fan base by adhering to their own rules...unapologetic, touring the way they want, putting out albums without concerning themselves if they had a hit track for radio play. A real original.

Why is Nirvana the turning point of any list? Although Nermind was excellent, they didn't invent power cords or Rock and Roll. Creed had more success and Versus was smashing Nirvanas second post Seattle music explosion.

I like Nirvana, but Cobain has been said to have felt Nirvana's end was very near. Yet here we are 21 years later listening to PJ.

    My 2 cents.

I totally agree. I don't get the relevance of Nirvana anymore. How are they even a reference point for anything? Anytime someone dies of an overdose they're a freakin genius!

    !!!!!!!!!!

    Fleet Foxes is incredible.

But, I disagree with Kings of Leon and Mumford and Sons in that final list. Especially Mumford and Sons. I love their first album...but I think they're gonna fizzle away after 2-4 albums. Their songs just sound too similar

Agree on Fleet Foxes, incredible, I am looking forward to their new album. Agree on Mumford and Sons, as well. Not sure about KoL.
