    OP is right. There are actors as in everyone else, then there is DDL. That guy is on another level. Anyone who builds a damn house for a role and lives in it, they are pretty much superhuman. His performance in There Will Be Blood is the single greatest acting performance in history. Ive said it a million times, that is Daniel Plainview playing Daniel Plainview. I dont see DDL at all in that film, he is that character so completely

    as far as other great actors, any movie with chris cooper, sean penn, brad pitt, dustin hoffman, phillip seymour hoffman, cate blanchett, meryl Streep, emile hirsch, pacino, deniro, Paul Dano, Evan Rachel Wood, naomi Watts, Benicio Del Toro i see no matter what,

    Favorite and best are two different things.

    But Chris Walken is pretty high on my list. Anthony Hopkins. Ed norton. Paul Newman. Robert Duvall. Morgan Freeman. Ben Kingsly. Gary Oldman. John Malkovich. So many great actors, hard to pick one.

    But my favorite performance of all time is Robert Shaw as Quint in Jaws.
