    What an awesome night
Ed Banter - he said the rain and wind was just like Seattle and he thought it was nice of us to make him feel at home!
he said he had a lot of good friends in the crowd tonight and tomorrow he is going to really get his drink on!
He mentioned that there is so much conflict and natural disaster in the world but he read one thing in the paper today he can fix!
He tried to pronounce a outer melbourne suburb 'nudawading' whole crowd was trying to help him say it aussie style
The issue was the local council wanted to ban young toddlers from drawing pictures with chalk on the footpath outside a local store.
Mayor said it was graffiti and although he would like to permit this its just too dangerous - people could trip over toddlers!
(Crowd laughs and cheers) Ed said he is going there tomorrow with a bucket full of chalk and will teach the toddlers to spell
'Authority' (he needed help from crowd to spell that) then said then ill teach em to write FUCK in front of it!
    Then belted out a song.
When Porch came on I shot up like a rocket and realised noone else was up (what's with that) so I sat down..few chords later people were
On their feet - he got a standing ovation for Porch.
Technical glitch with arc..he said he would do something special for us..and we got eat pray love song? But then he rocked out keep on rockin in the free world
Man he rocked that song. I and those around me really let loose.
    Everyone was on their feet.
Lots of talk on Sean Penn.someone requested dead man and eddie said OK
Lots of laughs (sort of had to be there moments)
One funny one he spoke about sleeping alone and it was depressing..someone yelled
That they would sleep with him ! Ed said I coulda used you then but I'm right now..
Man oh man - awesome night - highlights for me were hurt, immortality, porch, dead man and of course
Keep on rockin - anyone who has seen other solo shows - did Ed rock out that hard at other shows? For that song?
He rocked it! Bring on Friday baby!

Thanks for that ... great review. I wonder if many people will be heading out to "Noonawadeing" today to see if they can spot Ed?

Is it possible that these shows will be available for purchase in the Goods/Bootlegs section?
Otherwise, set list looks pretty cool...

No "official" bootlegs are made of Eddie solo shows unfortunately. That doesn't mean that there aren't any "unofficial" ones floating around though. ;)

    Stop tempting me Elisha!

I am proposing to my partner of 12 years on the 27th of March, which is our anniversary, which also happens to be the night that we are going to Eddie Vedder in Adelaide to celebrate!!!! (if she says yes that is)

So I'm wondering if anyone has ideas about how to get a message to Eddie to mention this or dedicate a song etc. Oceans would be AMAZING.....

    awesome show!

hurt was def a cool inclusion. dead man, sometimes, hard sun and you've got to hide your love away were highlights for me

It was kinda weird though (not in a bad way). It was ed up there but almost didn't 'feel' like him. I guess I'm used to standing up and seeing Ed stand up doing his mannerisms and stuff. It wasn't until the last tune when we all stood up and he was standing with his electric in hand that it 'felt' like it was that same old Ed i know if you get what i mean.

looking forward to tonight, hoping for long road opener!

    Thanks for the Set list!!

Great show last night, always leaves me wanting more. Just a really casual and relaxed crowd. That is the beauty of a sell out with such a small crowd, everyone really wants to be there.

A few songs I have not heard Eddie sing before and looking forward to a few more tonight. I loved the way he sat down with the acoustic guitar, someone yells out, "Dead Man Walking", he's like, "Yeah, I can do that", gets up picks up the electric and belts out one of my favourite songs.

I thought that was Jimmy Barnes, and my mate was like, yeah looks like him, but probably not.

Always a great Entertainer and I always have a smile on my face.

    Looking forward to tonight.

One other highlight for me I forgot to mention in my previous post was Dead Man Walking. Always wanted to hear it live, and finally have. He definitely did it justice! I did at one point request MOTH, hoping he'll play this one tonight, he was absolutely spellbinding last night and I thought the acoustics of the venue were excellent. Looking forward to another great concert tonight.

    Loved the show last night.

Hoping to hear "Off He Goes" tonight. Does anyone know if Ed does that solo? This song always reminded my husband of his brother when he was alive and he always played it to him. He very sadly died of a heroin overdose - he was only 36 years old -and we played it at his funeral , so would be really special to hear Ed sing it tonight.

Off He Goes was played at the Newcastle show I went to. :)

How was EJ when Barnesy came onstage? Was he kinda like the embarrassing Dad singing along? :)

Melbourne 1, what can I say?! What an awesome night! 2 days later and Im still reminiscing about the amazing set list.

Immortality, what can I say? Unbelievable!!!

I loved when Ed decided to do Dead Man Walking from the request (first real shout out for the night, so happy it was a good one and it was rewarded!) and Ed said "Yeah I can do that one" accompanied by his cheeky smile :)

The next song blew me away - The End. Eddie said "this is MY choice" and I yelled back "Great choice Eddie" - one of the most beautiful songs in the PJ catalogue IMO.

Elderly Woman and Porch absolutely rocked :)

But the one that totally got me was Better Days - OMFG - I cried! LOL The lyrics of that song are so fitting for my life and to hear it sung with such passion - it made me shed a tear or two (ok, ok, maybe more!)...

    WHAT A NIGHT!

Oh and for those that didnt see Jimmy Barnes - I certainly did - he was sitting in front of me in Row P ;) I had a feeling we would see him on stage!!!
