So i'm working in houston for the next month and my sister was planning a trip down from the great white north. To her delight Lil wayne is doing a concert here in April. She being a big spender wanted to make the most of her trip and wanted to get, of course, VIP lil wayne tickets. Me not liking rap, wasn't a fan of going to say the least. So she makes me go since she doesn't want to go to the concert by herself. I told her I would go if she bought me the ticket (fair in my opinion haha), but as it turns out 2 VIP tickets cost $1000 (and people are complaining about 95 for Ed). So long story short I'm going to be front row to Lil wayne.....

Fuck all that!! I am not a fan either, but many folks are.. being front row at any show is a thrill and it would be my opinion that you should make the absolute most out of the night!! sing, dance, put your mother fucking hands in the air. Be open minded and be yourself!! never know, could turn out to be the best night of your life!! Have fun!!!

I agree with this. I have absolutely no interest in Little Wayne whatsoever (white girl, check in) but hell, you're going to be front row at a sold out show. You better make the best of it. Do whatever feels good, drink up, boogie down. Why the hell not, just enjoy it.

I actually am a fan of Lil Wayne so I would definitely say make the most of the show and enjoy yourself. Preconceived notions of what it may be may keep you from enjoying what really is. I've heard that he actually puts on a pretty good show. Not a Pearl Jam worthy show, but a pretty good one, nonetheless... :)

Well I'm going anyway, I might as well enjoy it for what it is. If I go expecting the worse and not open my mind its just going to make the night a whole lot longer
  • haters gonna hate. wayne is among the best of the best in terms of modern day hip hop. i love the bizaare rhymes and the crazy voice. tha carter III and Da Drought III are among the best albums of the decade.

im eagerly awaiting tha carter IV in a few months.

he may be a jerk, but his music is pretty mindblowing stuff
  • Just make the best of it. I'm not a fan of his, but hip hop concerts can be a good time. I went to one of the Eminem/Jay Z shows at Yankee Stadium last summer and they put on an amazing show. Plus, if your sister dropped $1000 on the tickets, sounds like it has to be pretty important to her, so you at least owe it to her to try to have fun, right? But if there's a decent crowd, you do some good pre-gaming, and enjoy the green air  , it'll be a fun night regardless...enjoy!

I figured you may have been familier with the Boys. :D I noticed that season 1 showed up on Netflix

Good to see that Barker has made a recovery from the plane crash. Is he supposed to perform at the show?

yeah, he just released a new Cd actually, and lil wayne is a singer on one of the songs, so i'm sure he'll be playing some songs from that. Blink 182 are releasing a new album in the summer too.

and i'm glad i just got netflix a couple of weeks ago, i hope its not sensored :D

it used to bug the shit out of me when i would miracle a friend a concert ticket and he would beat down the show to me right after seeing it...even though i thought it was incredible...

in other words...don't be a dick

it also wouldn't hurt by listening to his new cd so u don't end up looking at the ceiling during a moment u shouldn't be. awkward if u r front row...

I'm not going to be a dick, despite not knowing any of his music I still appreciate the free ticket. I'm going to enjoy the show as its probably going to be once in a lifetime.

Also theres more to the story that happened this morning. Nicki Manaj is also playing at the concert. My sister found out this morning that she's offering a VIP meet and greet package which includes a meet and greet with niki (along with other stuff). And of course she wanted it. add another 500 to the show (250 each) and i'm going to be getting a picture with Niki Mnaj. I just wish my sister was a bigger pear jam fan haha
