Besides drinking that is. I'm going there for the EV shows but is there anything worth doing while there, never been there before. I've asked a few people and it seems no one has any ideas

Barrosa tours, the zoo, some drinking, cafe's and more drinking, casino and some pubs on Hindley St. The Bay and the beach where you will find some more of the above, but closer to the Oceans :) Enjoy it, isn't a bad place to rendevous esp when Ed is in town :D

Not sure I've only been once, Hindley street I remember was okay.
Go to the Barossa Valley if you are into wine!

Go see the statue of Sir Donald Bradman outside the Oval.

Yeah but I had row B tickets, couldnt pass that up. It worth going to Adelaide in that respect. And I met Eddie after the 2nd show. But yeah, no offense to people from there, just found it to be dull lol. I met some cool people there though. I have been to Sydney a couple of times but not for the EV solo tour this time. Was short on funds at the time lol.

well in the interests of full disclosure, i actually like melbourne.. a lot. however... i live in sydney. i was born here and i will die here. and my ashes will be either tossed onto redfern oval or thrown into the ocean from the gap. sydney is a sparkling jewel, sometimes a bit gauche but i will never grow tired of the way the sunlight glints off the harbour or the sight of the bridge. i will never tire of sighting the clocktower at central station or the sight of the purple blossoms of the jacarandas and terracotta roofs as i fly into kingsford smith. i will never tire of the rattle of the trains as they cross the harbour bridge, nor will i tire of crossing the bridge be it on foot or by train. i love so much about my city... catching the ferry to anywhere from circular quay, the south sydney rabbitohs and the spirit of their fans that kept them alive, the whiteley studio, rookwood necropolis, the way waverley cemetery clings to the edge, the history of parramatta, the blue mountains right on our doorstep, walking from bondi to coogee, the folly that is our town hall, the grandeur of the QVB and the thought that we almost lost her forever, sydney sandstone in its natural form and as buildings, how she's 3 sides ringed by national parks and the 4th side is the ocean, annandale hotel, oxford st, the walk from central up foveaux st to moore park, the fact that theyre building a gehry building in ultimo, taking a shortcut from pitt st to george st via the angel lane and looking up and seeing dozens of birdcages suspended and hearing the calls of long displaced native birds. oh and last but certainly not least, smiling indulgently when melburnians try to convince anyone that our southern sister is superior.. its not true... both cities are just different from each other in their own lovable ways. see you in february gotham. 8-)

Okay okay, someone has to defend Adelaide here! Anyone? anyone? :?

Nah it's not that bad, you just have to know the place well and you can find things to do. I love my suburb of Semaphore. If you ask me we actually have a much nicer beach than Glenelg. Glenelg has no sand dunes and I think it's too built up plus we have the Port River dolphins that are always lovely to watch.

Have to admit though, I love Melbourne too. I lived there for most of my life but born in Adelaide.

  • I wish I liked Adelaide more... unfortunately every time I go there I swear I'm never going back - have been more successful recently haven't been since the 09 tour and not between 06 and 09 but am sure I'll probably get dragged there for some reason before they come back again.
IF (skeptical) there are fun things to do in Adelaide I would love to be filled in before I'm next back in the town with one street
I don't mean to offend anyone, a lot of what I say should be taken with a grain of salt... that said for most of you I'm a stranger on a computer on the other side of the world, don't give me that sort of power!
