Hey, I've been listening to these guys through youtube and what not, and I'm loving what I'm hearing! Where should I start with these guys?
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

I've never been a hardcore Murphys fan, but living here, it's hard not to get into their stuff. Personally, my favorite 3 albums are The Gang's All Here(99), The Warrior's Code(05), and The Meanest of Times(07). The Warrior's Code is by far my favorite of their works, but there are those around here who'll say their first album, Do or Die(97) reigns supreme. The Warrior's Code and Meanest of Times are probably their two most accessible records.

Also, their newest work, Going out in Style, is really really awesome as well. You can't really go wrong with anything they've done.

When ever I find a new band I just go thru and check out all their songs... There's always those little gems that never get noticed.. With DKM it's a little tough, kind of like Flogging Molly, all good stuff but can get to be the same sound after awhile, good stuff though.. I know that didn't help you one bit so sorry... I favor Flogging Molly more to DKM if that helps..

For me, growin up in Boston around the Murphys, Blackout is THE BEST album they have put out. Warriors Code is a close second. All their albums are good but start with these......they will lead you to the rest.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

They played here last night, and Springsteen hopped up on stage with them for a couple of songs.

Yeah, I would have enjoyed that... quite a bit.

    Yeah.

It was amazing. Bruce is the man and was going nuts. I heard his son got him into them. Very cool.....

  • I'd defo start on Blackout - has a nice mix of stuff on there.

I'd agree that Warriors code is probably the most accessible but if you already know their style then Blackout is a cracking starting place.
Meanest of Times is ok but there's too much hit-and-miss on there for my liking. The new albums ok as well, but it's not as immediate as their older stuff.

Yes, I have been to some Pearl Jam concerts. Several of them.
  • Ugh. Having just watched them whore themselves around town for a whole week of "St. Patricks Day" shows, the Dropkicks are kinda like a 4 hour masturbation session. At first it was fun, now it's just tiresome and repetitive.

And I'm starting to get a rash.
