Soooooooooo, with Langerado to be announced Monday and than Bonnaroo following late Jan early Feb my own little birdie @ Superfly (those who hung with me @ the roo in guest artist know us) do you guys kow Pearl Jam is being thrown around again to play Bonnaroo in the MMJ late night spot. So far my pal has told me the bands being thrown around which some are already a go are : Phish,Dead reunion w/phil & bobby weir, Bruce Springsteen, Allmans, Derek Truck w/Allmans, Dave Matthews w/many friends doing a Leroi tribute, Guns & Roses or ACDC have been thrown around as the "Metallica" kind of band...no rap or R&B has been mentioned, there were a few smaller bands but I cant remmeber who they were..I dont spread rumors because I hate getting my hopes up so I wont do it to others, but that was a little PJ rumor I got from a SFly buddy of mine, names just being thrown around, ut being thrown around in deed is a good thing...

MMJ was on the smaller one... Still, it was PJ, not Metallica or anyone else which gathered around 80,000 of almost the entire Roo crowd at the main stage, I wouldn't think they'll want to play with their spot after that success.
  • What about Coachella? PJ playing coachella makes sense and they have never played it before...There name keeps popping up to headline and i just have this feeling they will. PLus its the 10th year anniversary so that would be cool...

Kids at roo dont like jam bands anymore.

Maybe if pearl jam had a synth player.

Bonnaroo was sweet with PJ last year, but i dont see it happening again.

    2009 PJ US tour

i hope i can get another stimulus package to pay for another bonnaroo.

  • I think PJ should play Pemberton in 09, a nice eclectic semi big fest nestled in the mountains of Beautiful British Columbia, less than a days drive from Seattle. C'mon now, you know they wanna.

  • Boys,Boys...Think main stage right after Uncle Bruce...ala Kanye after PJ, except PJ will be on time...Think Bruce on Saturday night from 9:00-1:00am follwed by PJ from 2am - ???? You dont think Eddie and the boys would love playing a sunrise acoustic set @ going past 5am...but you dont need to play a small stage to be late night
  • 2009 will be the boys touring without, festivals. Why would a band like Pearl Jam play and headline the same festival in the states two years in a row?
cook'em just to see the look on there face

Oh, I dunno, maybe because it was fucking awesome???

But seriously, I doubt they'd do two consecutive years. It'd be great if they did, but I won't hold my breath on that one. Phish and the Dead, though? Fuck yeah.

I'd be surprised to see PJ at Roo again in 2009, but I would love to see them do a late night set if/when they play there again. Widespread Panic headlines almost every year at Roo, so a return appearance in consecutive years isn't unheard of.

I tend to agree, I think its a bit of a stretch....BUT you can always hope...
