"The International Atomic Energy Agency said its team of experts had taken radiation readings from Tokyo and found nothing to cause concern, saying there was no indication of radioactive iodine or caesium in the city" - BBC news

form my news reading over the years the BBC always delivers the most accurate meaningful news stories, while CNN and Fox etc, are focused on ratings and there news stories reflect that. I believe i read earlier in the week that radiation levels in Japan were only slightly elevated but no cause for concern.

Here’s the link to the most recent article http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-12783832

and yes, all the best to Japan

I actually havent been following much in the last day or two, wasn't aware of this whole thing about western media going crazy over it... So i'm not sure if they are or not.

There is a definite difference when you watch Fox/CNN compared to BBC/CBC
Anyways according to my friend who is over there, the media in the US is sensationalizing things.

    Hello from Tokyo!

Tokyo is still here...(and so am I) things seem normal but there's still a little tension in the air with what's happened up north and after an aftershock last night. Some businesses are running, especially chemists selling toiletpaper, masks, water, etc. but some places are closed until further notice.

    That's about it PJ folks.

(Don't forget PJ did tour Sendai in 2003...and I am sure they (the people in the affected areas) would like to hear from them as a band.)

    Best wishes always!!!

    Hello again!

People in Tokyo generally stay in their homes. The trains haven't been running so frequently, so people are, I guess, frightened because if you live 1 hour from Tokyo and commute everyday, you don't want to walk home (like I did when the quake first struck) after the power shuts them down.
Scared? I am a little because of the aftershocks....radiation? We will see just how that next story comes along. They are trying to do their best but fire trucks with water cannons and helicopters dumping water on reactors does look "primitive" to many.

I just hope all those up north (especially the children) are not suffering!

    Best wishes to all!
