U isn't good at all really and don't know how anyone would call it "emotionally weighty".

joy, love and happiness are emotions, no?? Well, "U" has all that in abundance. That's why.

But the song is about the opposite.... "Thought it was easy to stay in love, BUT u u u"

I think for a song to maximize it's emotional impact it should be supported both lyrically and musically. To me it's much more of a tongue in cheek fun song.

I'm more talking about the overall vibe of the song, the feeling of the music...the lyrics notwithstanding, the music is hugely joyous and happy, that's the way I hear it and that's the way it makes me feel. As you say, it is a fun song, no doubt, but it is emotionally powerful just the same...in the exact OPPOSITE way "Fatal" is, which is not exactly a fun song and isn't supposed to be. And I wonder if that's why the OP bothered to compare these two, because these are two very different faces of PJ.

Fatal! I don't really love U except for the brilliant bass/drum intro which is amazing!

  • Wow this is actually a hard one, I would count both of these songs probably in my top 20 as long as U is the version from Wishlist. I would have to give Fatal the edge.

You said it. Can't believe anyone would think these songs are close.
