Why would they have PJ20 anywhere but Seattle?

Because they said it would be in the "center" of the country? I'd love to have it happen at the Gorge, but its painfully inaccessible for most travelers unless they commit to renting a vehicle.

and how close is the closest airport to Alpine? 200 miles?
165 miles from Sea-Tac to the Gorge...

it's a little less than 800 for me...i think i'm going to drive too...i'm due for a good road trip :)

    i will be driving too
i think we east coasters all need to get together and rent something large
    and comfy
unless someone has something that already fits the bill?

I definitely agree...i may be going solo to this thing...my friends & family enjoy pearl jam and have been to a concert here and there but convincing them to head to wisconsin may not be as easy..

i have a little honda civic, so i could only squeeze in a few people with me + gear...
so the "large and comfy" idea may work out better if we got a gang from the east coast together :D

My (adult) son comes with me, or I go with him, however it is :D
to all the local PA/NJ/NY shows we can
    HOWEVER
even HE will call me nuts when I take off for the middle of the country
although they know its coming (they just haven't heard the actual statement from me yet)
so there's no way any of them will go
so WE, collectively, east-coasters need to stick together
and stay on top of this
not only will it be a whole lot less expensive if we team up
but it'll be a whole lot more fun too
(brings back memories of my Dead days..yep, i'm an old hippie  )
    ROADTRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    peace,

    So.

Well since it seems to be the only thing people here are obsessing about I figured those that didn't do the chat would like to know. It's irrelevant to me.

Some asshole actually asked Jeff if he was going to die of heroin. To which Jeff responded "You're a fucking idiot".

I love Jeff. He and I would get along so well.
